Thread: I have moved on from Coh3 and i am down for .... 13 Jul 2023, 20:07 PM My main issue with CoH3 is that while it is a mechanically good game, its not very different to the other two games so there is nothing "new" in my mind to learn or work on, other than build orders and what units are strong etc. Additionally, I find that the presentation is very sterile and lacks character and charm. Thread: I have moved on from Coh3 and i am down for .... 13 Jul 2023, 14:10 PM Amazing to see the parallels regarding the development of Street Fighter 6 and CoH3. Capcom flubbed Street Fighter 5 at launch, spent years updating it and turned into a good game. Used a brand new engine and took on board lessons learned with SF5 to create SF6. They sold 2 millions copies within the month and have healthy player numbers (PC stats only below) Whereas, Relic flubbed CoH2 at launch, spent years updating it and turned into a good game. Updated the game engine and seemingly took on board minimal lessons from CoH2 development. In: COH3 Central

Anyway, it is unfortunate to see people lose their jobs. And like I said in my other post, making video games is very difficult (despite what people believe), many games have rough launches, and plenty that never make it to the public and this can be for many reasons, sadly a minority of the public tends to lean into bassless/uneducated assumptions and stupid conspiracy theory. Like I understand that you probably can't reveal much about game development due to NDAs etc. However, the "only if you knew attitude" is infuriating and doesn't add anything to the conversation. I feel like COH3 had the budget to make a single player game OR a multiplayer game but they decided to make a game with both modes that were half assed. Thread: Discussion - Current state of Tournaments14 May 2023, 18:31 PM I just think the scene needs to be realistic in its expectations. The game will probably get to CoH2 levels or a bit better in a few years time. You're not getting SC2 sized competitive scenes because the genre really needs a kick up the butt and the WW2 setting just isn't that popular. The "woke" stuff isn't why people aren't playing the game right now, most people play single player and they are done with the campaign and the multiplayer just isn't enjoyable enough for most people who bought at launch.
