What is the theoretical perfect commander ?

So i always asked myself, what do u look in a commander for 2vs2+ and 1 vs 1 ?

From my experience is 2vs2+ :1 off map,1 heavy tank, planes and 1 support or elite unit, if USF or UKF artillery is a must without soviet

for 1 vs 1: smoke, weapon upgrades, 1 off map, and a call in (both heavy or non), if allied troops an elite unit is more than welcome as they lack it from stock

so what's ur experience ? do u think there are more important things ?

and what do u think are good commander that fit ur opinions ?

ex.: for 2 vs 2 + the commanders that would fit are mechanized support and assault support, for 1 vs 1 lightning war and mechanized assault are good choices as are mechanized company and armor company

Any commander that has multiple abilities that are good and useful and will never be nerfed. So basically anything with mark target or soviets in general.

Also something with offmap artillery which isnt useless. Useless Arty being anything that is USF or OKW.

Logistics Glider HQ
Sexton
Reskin of the Jagdtiger by the name 'Tortoise'
(No engine upgrade but a lot more MG firepower)

I like to call it 'Plugging all the big gaps in the UKF unit list'

Jaeger Armor doctrine always has been the perfect teamgame doctrine. Extremely versatile ability roster and all of them are very useful (even the riegel mines if you're a 251 lover like me)

Spotting scopes for crazy sight and self-spot for all vehicles, recon plane + stuka dive bomb to reveal and destroy important targets like Howitzers and Rocket Arty.... and ofc the Elefant as a perfect unit vs allied TD spammers.

For the Soviets, I always felt like Armoured Assault was almost a perfect commander, with just one weakness. If you replaced the IL2 strafe with Guards Rifle Infantry, it would be the perfect 1v1 commander. Radio Intercept is a very strong utility, T34/85 and the IS2 are fantastic tanks, crew repairs are incredibly useful in getting your tanks ready for battle asap.

For the Ostheer, Strategic Reserves is close to being perfect. I just think if you replaced the 251 observation with a muni ability like fragmentation bomb or JU87 anti tank strafe, it would be a perfect commander.

For OKW, probably something like
0CP Panzerfusiliers
0CP 221 (can upgrade for resource increase like in Elite Armoured)
5CP Heat shells
5CP Panzer Commander
13CP Command Panther

Strong infantry, the 221 for resources which you can then use for heat shells in tank combat. You get synergy with Panzer commander and you can also put the commander in the command panther call in in case you’re behind in fuel and need a call in op tank.

F me, this commander is insane. If you replaced the 221 with smoke this would be the goat okw commander for tanks.

For USF imagine this beauty:
0CP Assault Engineers
3CP Rangers
5CP Cover to cover
8CP Calliope
13CP Pershing

2 elite inf call ins, one anti infantry cqc and one uber anti tank platform with 3 bazookas. Cover to cover is an insane utility ability. Calliope is super strong and the Pershing has great anti infantry.


For UKF probably something like
0CP M1 81mm mortar
0CP M5 halftruck (can upgrade with AA)
1CP Salvage engineers
8CP Sexton
13CP Crocodile

Indirect fire for days, early and late game. The M5 which combos incredibly well with the AEC. Salvage engineers which are opaf at getting you lots of fuel from wrecks. The croc which needs no explanation.

As much as I used to dislike that, now Id love to see commanders who are the anti-thesis of their faction, similar to how the new Brit one is

So for example USF: 1 very durable, slow, low DPS tank, 1 Cheap Inf squad that excels on long range, an AA emplacement similar to the AA halftrack, A Priest Howitzer (immobile version) and a 30cal HMG- long arc, fast suppression, low damage and mobility

Yeah probably replace the Assengies with an off map arty.

5. Any weapon upgrade for cons

For OST:
1. G-43
2. Relief infantry
3. Tiger
4. AT stuka

For USF:
1. Pershing
2. M1919
3. Combined arms ability
4. Priest
5. Sandbags and mines for riflemens

OKW:
1. Com Panther
2. HEAT rounds
3. Crit repair
4. Grenade assault

Ambush Tactics
Anti-Tank Camouflage (Sov Ability, camo for tanks and AT guns)
Panzer Tactician
Storm Troopers
Tiger Ace or Elephant
