I tried it just few times in game, so I don't really know what's exactly its effect and in which moment is better to call it.
Most important: is it good versus infantry or versus tanks? I faced a russian using the same kind of close air support and it literally destroyed my infantry... I wonder if it could do the same thing against tanks. It would be nice.

Close air support is good against vehicles not infantry, that is what you got the strafingrun for (on the assault support commander). Dunno about heavy tanks, but it does great damage on light and can hurt medium vehicles.

I just experienced the russian counterpart (I suppose) which just destroyed my infantry and damaged an halftrak.
I hoped those close air support was like the first CoH Henschel support. That plane had 75mm cannons, this one 37mm, so I think it is just anti light vehicles.
