What's the point of this thread AT ALL ?
Fixing stuff is never in the scope of any patch ever.

But there is at least hope for a bigger balance patch. If Andy_RE sees how many people want changes to heave call-ins and under performing units than the chance is much bigger to get this patch.

Yeah if we complain enough it might be in-scope next patch. I'm sure Andy_RE notes this kinda stuff (I hope).

apply this to axis heavies, allied ones are fine since they are bad.

The best Heavy is called Pershing...

Which is fun, because its a panther with AI gun and lower health.
And Panther is hardly a heavy.

I'd put the Pershing up at the top as well. It's squishy as far as health but like every other stat is fantastic. It's just so damn reliable.

Pershing is indeed a great tank, but given its health, its premium med tier, not heavy.
It got heavy tanks cost, but instead of bundle of survivability and firepower, it gets meh survivability and great firepower.

Doesn't the game call it M26 Pershing Heavy Tank though?

Its got great armour. It's a glass cannon heavy tank but it's still a heavy tank. It's designed to fit the faction. Instead of a unit to soak up fire, which the usf is distinctly designed to lack, they get a highly mobile nuke launcher.

The game also calls conscripts a soviet army backbone.
Plus, it was mostly morale thing, right after ww2 it was designated medium and stayed that way.
It also didn't fit actual heavy tank doctrine according to soviets, germans and british doctrines since US didn't had a heavy tank doctrine at all.

Point is, names don't mean much, stats do and according to stats, pershing is literally a comet if comet had a great gun.

It can be classed as a heavy tank. It’s got a 90mm gun and even though it hasn’t got that much health it’s definitely on a different level than “premium medium” tanks like the ez8 and okw p4.

I wish it had panther range though, given that it’s pretty squishy in terms of HP and is still a bit slower than the panther.

It really can't for the reason other then in-game justification of mechanical limit to 1.
Gun caliber is irrelevant for tanks classification, Jackson also has 90mm gun and isn't heavy tank, while KV-2 uses literal howitzer and isn't classed as artillery, but a heavy.

Heavies are breakthrough/spearhead tanks, pershing isn't going to lead any spearheads lest it'll turn to scrap in seconds.

Well, it does have 45 range, which is plenty, panther being tailored to counter such tanks is justified by having more.

In real life and in game the Pershing was designed as a heavy Tank.

Pershing was only considered a medium tank post war.

Funny how relic managed to make pershing proper heavy tank in coh1 and fucked it up in coh2 with some weird medium/heavy mix.

Pershing was originally created as a medium tank, but at the end of 1944, to raise the confidence of the crews, it was reclassified into a heavy. In May 1946, with the changed American concept of tank forces, the Pershing was again reclassified into an medium tank.
