At 5 CPs, I'm able to have a Stuart deployed and fighting for a few minutes before the Greyhound becomes available. In addition, its front armor is paper-thin and can be damaged by small arms fire. Its armor is fine, but its main gun does hardly anything to light vehicles.

I say change it to 3 or 4 CPs and/or main gun's damage. Can't counter a Luchs which is about the same price. 5 CPs is around 10 minutes in the game which is much too late for what it delivers. I have fun with this unit in team games, but it comes too late to be practical.

Against infantry, maybe. However, it loses to a 222 head-on, which is half the price.

The Greyhound is very good on paper, but hamstrung by its timing.

The idea behind the revamped Greyhound is it's not a shock unit: it comes too late to fill an M20 or AAHT's role. It's meant to be a very efficient later game light vehicle.

Thing is, when you get to CP5 (in 1v1) you're getting near the medium tank phase and putting a 70ish fuel delay on that first medium tank could be fatal. Therefore, you tend to delay until after your first medium tank. And that point, you might as well wait 40 fuel for a second Sherman, which is tougher and more versatile.

The commander's fairly off-meta right now though and it can no longer fight the vehicles meant to counter it, so you might get away with tying it to tech.

That's what it's for. It's a USF Luchs. It'll beat 222s with the .50 cal.

well does it?

I tested it in close range without the .50 cal. Still, it shouldn't lose to a 222.

slow firing 37mm cannon vs burst firing 20mm

it doestn lose because of weak armor or low dmg, it loses because of a lower rate of fire. IN such a 1v1 which you should not seek with either of those vehicles in the first place

It loses because of low damage: it only does 40 per hit. Its main gun damage was lowered in SBP specifically to make it bad against vehicles.

It'd beat the 222 without a .50 cal when it had 60 per hit.

Range is irrelevant, M8 will always pen 222 and 222 pen is flat, no dropoff.
.50 cal does make a difference though as it got additional penetration as well, or at least should have.

It's definitely not too weak. It's basically a wheeled T-70.

Which makes putting it anywhere below 5 CPs kinda dangerous for balance. It might work at 4 CPs with a build time (available in HQ) rather than as a call-in.

Its a LV, it should come around every other LV in this game.

While that's true, its also pretty powerful LV atm.

I really wouldn't mind if lights would arrive at that time, but had lower cost, so building them isn't just 1 for shock value, but an alternative to meds if you feel like your AT is sufficient.

At least soviets can do that with SU-76 and USF with scott, but direct combat LVs at high cost arriving late simply do not work(looking at you Valentine too).

it's fine where it is as the video shows it beat the 222 (a dedicated LV destroyer) quite easily and has a very powerful AI

It was moved from 60 to 40 two patches ago specifically to reduce its effectiveness versus vehicles. It was too good with the 60 damage.

NO, dmg 60 is quite proper stat

in now M8 is hard to win vs 222 even M8 is cp5 280/60 unit

I always saying to u "Plz play USF before u saying "

go play USF and use M8 now

OR if u want, i will play 1vs1 with u

u play USF

i will play axis

The M8 should basically be a sherman on wheels that comes at cp 2 :D
I really hope noone at Relic Entertainment considers the proposals made in this forum ^^

Funny how you think you know better than an entire balance team consisting of veteran modders and high tier players.

Yes i have. But i wouldnt get the idea to bumrush it into enemy light vehicles. "It should beat the 222, be equal to P2".
Why should it be? because you people think it should? thank god it doesnt matter what you think.
It comes a little late, yes. How about you propose that its becomes a passive and available with the captain instead of calling for buffs or cp changes. I dont claim that i am an expert in balancing games but you are just maniacs :D

have you ever seen it being used? people use it to chase down retreating infantry and uncrew teamweapons. it does that VERY VERY well. its a niche unit as is the case with so many other call ins but you want it to be a superior version of the m20. every callin in your opinion must replace the existing units - and thats just stupid
