misuse of terms... accuracy for 1.15 and 75% crit HP threshold... but yes pretty damn strong if you ask me
that's why i said lower the threshold to 40-50% and buff the rate of fire by 30-40%, no more free snipe and the damage is the same as a kar 89

they only have 1 sniper rifle the other 3 are basic kar 89

They are able to drop arty, which is pretty powerful ability as it comes pretty fast.

Forgetting that they come with 3 elite carbines? Or that they have artillery call in? Or that they can be upgraded with double BAR? They both have some major advantages over the other.

Make the sniping an ability which can be used, like the coh1 brit recons upgrade. and then adjust the other parameters of the unit accordingly so it is still good

please tell me how 3 elite carbines are better than 3 grenadier rifles at mid to long range? also tell me how a 140muni arty ability fake flares and some crappy beacon compensates for sprint boobytrap salvage (crappy) self heals and infiltration? 3 abilities vs 5? the only real argument is the double bar argument...

id throw that question to you if you think I&R pathfinders are anywhere NEAR JLI... even with 40% crit JLI would still be outright superior to I&R paths

Not saying they are right but comparing JLI and pathfinders (as the only 2 non sniper units with death crits) all the points go to JLI from durability to utility to offensive capability even getting them on the field is easier... It's kinda hard to not think such a thing when they are so obviously overbuffed, and thus far without so much as a bandaid on their performance like other overperforming things released at the same time. A simple price increase would be enough to lessen the literal cancer they are bringing to the game. But here we are and here they are and nowhere to be seen is any attempt to fix them thus far.


It seems we are in agreement. Pathfinders are performing acceptable, while JLI need to be nerfed primarily on price.

Wouldn't that be much worse than pathfinders with two snipers by default and can get bars?

yes but pathfinders cost like ~290mp... at 250mp theyre more comparable to I&R paths which only get 1 sniper... the comparison is hence biased

Because if you take the literal middle range (17-18), the elite carbines have a higher DPS (though its basically equal) than the grenadier rifles. Yes, the carbines are worse by a decent margin at max range. The carbines absolutely demolish kars at close range. That dynamic itself sounds about balanced.

The I&R pathfinder arty is generally agreed to be the best artillery ability in the game, while medkits are generally agreed to be one of the worst abilities (alongside capture point on the IS2). Of course, I find infiltration to be the most understated aspect.

I think I&R pathfinders are very much pushed to a utility role and it shows.

And as a final note, you probably shouldn't do a raw "3 abilities vs 5" argument. It's the same misguided thinking that applied to OKW vet for some units.

Except that one can 1v1 most infantry squads in virtually any situation and the other... can't. Not saying IR pathfinders aren't solid, and the carbines are great and they can have BARs and all that, but overall jaegers are objectively a much more combat effective squad with higher accuracy, rifles that are still solid, a 50% accuracy first strike bonus out of camo, a ridiculous .9 accuracy with the sniper against heavy cover, and have more abilities than IR pathfinders.

yea i didn't count the bar , maybe giving them another sniper rifle and lowering the threshold to 50% might be better
