We've talked about adding captured equipment units and no one has suggested this yet? Tobis is displeased with us all.

That's because if it doesn't exist in coh2 files, it can't be added.
No new assets, remember?

Captured vehicles for Ostheer can be a T34/76 747(r) or KV1 756(r), also a Bren-Carrier. They really had a lot of them.

Captured weapon, PPsh instead of MP40 for Sturmtruppen.

Captured stuff for Soviets, MP40 and Faust for Partisans instead of the regular equipment.

There is also an unused bunker-model with medical equipment. Maybe for OKW.

Sdkfz. 251 variant with closed and opend chassis.

Tiger model for OKW.

Hull-Down for some tanks like KW1 etc.

Panzerbüchse 39 is also waiting for use!

It would also be funny, if OKW's HQ gets chanded by large mortar bunker of CoH1.

I suggested to give a new OKW Tankhunter unit the Panzerbüchse 39; unit would start with 2 anti-tank rifles and could be upgraded with 2 Schrecks.

PPsh would be cool for Assgrens and Sturmtroops. Upgrades should be a mix between captured PPshs and Stg44.

...

Panzerbüchse as an AT weapon better fits the Ostruppen as it was obsolete. (it could become an upgrade for the 221)

On the other Granatbüchse Modell 39 that fired riflegrendes could probably be used.

I thought we couldn't put the Panzerbusche on the 221? Is it possible to replace the MG42 with that? And even if so the AT rifle mounted on it was a 20mm, not a 14mm one but nvm about that.

Actually some 221 had their mg replaced by Panzerbüchsen 39 in the early stages of the war, probably as field modification.

The Panzerbüchsen 41 was also used which was 2.8cm.

He asking about in game models, not historical use.
Plus, existence of 222 completely invalidates the idea.

Soviet scouts: 5 people with a Mosin rifle, can camouflage, throw a RG-42 grenade, spawn from any building on the map,use a sniper skin.
possible improvements:
- capture group: gives 5 PPSh-41 / MP-40 (the scouts loved MP-40 / PPS-43 because they are compact and light). Abilities: interrogation - shows enemy troops on a mini map. Possible ability: reconnaissance in the rear - shows enemy troops in a small circle (like an IR half-track) reconnaissance is not visible to enemies, cannot move.
- cover group: gives 2 DP-27, ability - mortar strike, cover group often used 50 mm mortar to cover the capture group.

Hmm, also:
What if some factions could doctrinally bring their mainlines, but by individual soldiers who cost more than the reinforcement of a squad.

Lets say that instead of 240 for a gren squad, you pay 40 for one gren. You could get six instead of 4, but losing each one would be more punishing

Of course it could be hell to balance, but...

Guys, do you think Gebirgsjäger could have a role in a new Axis commander? I personally would love to see them but i have a hard time in finding a useful place for the unit.
JLI occupies their spot for OKW, Wehrmacht would have more space for them. But which weapons should they get?

My suggestion for an open discussion:
  • 4 men unit, long range AI experts but no AI abilities
  • comes at 3 CP
  • can be upgraded with 1 lmg42 AND 2 G43
  • would cost 360 MP

That would make the unit good at all ranges, and imo it generally bad design. Unit are better when they are good a one range and weak in another or average at all ranges.

Ok, would 2 lmg43 for long range damage be too powerful?
