I dont agree, with stuart both a sneaky flank from behind or long range fighting against the flakpanzer work fine, specially if you can treathen with a snare.

Yeah I actually find it pretty decent against the ostwind. You sure won’t kill it if he’s not an idiot, but forcing it off is good enough performance for me especially considering that it’s a light tank vs. his actual tank (that he got instead of a p4) which is supposed to be a shock unit since the ostwind doesn’t have real at capacity.

I like the MG buff thing. It will give stewie more reliable AI capability whithout instagibs and random wiping.

The only things in that price range are Luchs, an AI tank, and Puma, a light vehicle hunter so neither would be fair comparisons. The Puma also has other weakness, such as having atrocious anti-infantry performance and only 25 armour, so it dies easily to flak, light cannon, and even HMGs, while the Stuart has 80 armour, giving it more than 50% chance to deflect Ostwind shots.

In any case you should look at the pen values of the Ostwind before making such contrarian claims. The Ostwind doesn't even threaten a T70 with its barely 50% pen chance, puny 40 damage, and chance of missing a moving light tank (high speed + small target size + low Ostwind accuracy). A T70 would need to stand still for more than 20 seconds for an Ostwind to be able to kill it.

That's one of the major problems with Ostwind right now - it's really terrible vs Light Tanks, and it can only win (while losing more than half health) if your opponent's light vehicle stops and stands still in a 20+ second face-off.

Precisely. The Stuart was blatantly OP beyond any reasonable belief and got nerfed down to average levels of performance.

Did it get nerfed too much? Perhaps. Old Stuart wasn't even fathomable from a balance perspective, and was only indirectly counterable by Old Kubels raping USF early game, which gave the old Stuart a very poor timing window.

The new Stuart denies the Luchs of a window of opportunity - timing is a quality in and of itself that isn't represented by stats. We all remember how unplayable Mechanised was when Luchs took 90 seconds to build.

ill be honest though... the new m20 is soo good now that i prefer it over the stuart... lay some mines kill some squads delay till sherman or jackson ??? profit

Yes, stuart denies luchs. But if OKW uses raketen to cover luchs, the stuart is almost useless. It cannot switch to other flank, cuz it's weak AI doesn't give the opportunity to quickly force infntry away.

Again, giving a little buff to stuart MG, would somewhat increase it's AI, without making it a wiping machine.

I find it better to hold out for a quick sherman and use some of the fuel towards weapon racks and the cheaper grenade unlock.
