Obviously (shoutbox today at 10:41AM, post still visible) blatant racism is allowed on this site, whilst other posts (dont want to go into detail here, but I can on demand) get invisibled instantly. Could someone running this site enlighten me about the logic behind this, since I do not get it. Thank You in advance.

Maybe, just maybe, moderators aren't constantly checking and moderating the shoutbox every day.
Also, racism happening does not mean it is allowed. Obviously.

although i personally feel like you that racism should be banned and swift action to be taken against people who post racist remarks there's something very funny about somebody called 1984 asking for censorship of somebody's free speech

I don't get the funny part, it's my year of birth and I recommend the book as well, which does not mean that I intend to opress anybody. There are other usernames which should raise more interest.

They have very strict rules on racism and all the other stuff but I don't think they have enough moderators to enforce it.
Also they say they want open discussion yet topics about syria gets locked before anything even gets discussed.

Racism. unnecessary (everywhere) if it gets dealt with as soon as the relevant people come across it then that's good enough for me.
On the Syria thing.. we all know how that would go (this being the internet). For example, I go on Youtube to watch some blues (the music, like) and whatever video I go on there is a multitude of absolute (for want of a better word) GONKS arguing over guitarists and yadda-yadda-anonymous-myopinionisfact-bullshit. Go look for yourself...

Racism is not permitted here. When we see shouts that break our site rules, we set them invisible and warn the member. Repeated offenses get the account banned. Some slip by us here and there. If you're truly offended, feel free to PM an Admin to make them aware. And be specific, because "the one from 10:41 AM" doesn't help that much, as times are localized.

In theory, yes they do. But as you agree we both know it will end badly (e.i eventually dissolving into flaming, discussing potentially offensive topics yadda-yadda) so why would they not be trying to prevent that before it happens?
Prevention is much more preferable than punishment.
