I would like to learn how to remove smoke trails and tracers from weapons, including those originating from thrown weapons such as grenades.
Additionally I would like to disable the blizzard timer UI.

First question answered by Olhausen Kraus of Wikinger Mod Team:
In Coh2 the tracers are bundled to the projectile. Then you could proceed in two ways to do a more realistic modding:
a. Do the projectile blueprint not visible (the tracer will dissapear)
b. Give the projectile a greater speed than vanilla values. But be careful, if the value is too high then it will generate bugs.
Yes with grenades is a bit different. Just go to ebps/projectile and in the projectile ext remove the "launcher marker".
