For once I agree with you, but I can assure you I'll throw money at Relic if they expand the workshop and do an Italian/Eastern Front for CoH, an Italian front expansion was planned but they scrapped it in favor of CoH Online which was a huge waste if you ask me and Eastern Front is already all made, since as you said, they won't be getting anymore money from CoH2, might as well go back to something that they might get something out of it.

Picture this...

New version of Essence engine, re-done art(some) assets ported from coh2, add Italian faction, Mediterranean campaign.
We already know you can port assets from Coh1 into coh2, IMO its possible to port Coh2 assets into the next build as IMO they are still using essence.

CoH3/Online - Multi-theater company of heroes "games as a service" with payable cosmetics and armies.




Relic: Split in two with one side working on AOE4 with Microsoft, the other working with SEGA on CohO / Coh3.

The main game might go free2play (base) but only right before COH3 is released in order to increase sales. The base game is near-free anyways. It's only a few bucks right now to buy on steam. Commanders are how they make money and keep supporting the game (along with the other DLC) so if they make it all free; that means they aren't supporting COH2 anymore :(

Did DOW3 use a different engine from COH2? I would love if they dispensed with the engine all together and started from scratch or even used COH1 engine to deal with all the major spaghetti code issues COH2 has from it's THQ-bankruptcy-influenced development cycle. The pathfinding and relatively high unit latency are deeply frustrating still (among many other issues).

A nice clean launch with a relatable campaign and story along with some fun multiplayer modes would be nice.

If they wanted to excite the fanbase and bring more people in they could literally make a 25 second trailer with the theme of coh3 for 20 seconds, and the last 5 just being the title "Company of Heroes 3".
