Also recrewing OKW support weapons and tanks with another faction only gives you the first 3 vet levels, which is pretty lame now that vet 5 and vet 3 are intended to be comparable power.


Afaik they get the veterancy bonus of the faction that the weapons/vehicles belong to, so vet3 on stolen stuff does have the same power.

I'm pretty sure that's not true.
It's not like recrewed zis guns get raketen veterancy.

Oh oops I thought you meant that when OKW recrews allied weapons/tanks they can only get to vet3 (and in that case they get the allied veterancy). The other way around I don't know what kind of veterancy allied factions get with OKW weapons/vehicles, I'd have to test that in the sandbox.

Vets 1-3 could easily be the same then 4 and 5 could be active abilities that raise the skill cap VS passive that just make things easier. Then captured weapons are only as good as any vet 3 but 4 and 5 give okw more options and a munitions sink if the player is good enough to utilize them. Maybe some abilities that have a strength and a weakness so it's important to understand the situation VS insta pop.

But that's not inconsistent. Expensive unit shooting at cheaper units = High amount of kills, low xp gain. Maybe it's outdated or i'm looking at the wrong files, but from this small list:

Calliope > Katyusha > Stuka > PW in xp requirements.

Calliope > Katyusha > Stuka > PW in xp requirements.

To add to that, it makes a difference if you kill 10 full health models or 10 10% health models.

I meant inconsistent in terms of XP requirements being too high compared to similar units. A Lefh18 or Ml20 reaches max vet at about 30 kills and 57(!) is barely enough for vet2? That's ridiculous. It even damaged two Katyushas. The exact same applies to units like KT compared to IS-2 or Pershing.

And as i said, unless i have look at the wrong files, units like Katyusha or Calliope have a higher xp vet requirement.

Katyusha: 1570f > following vet levels are just a matter of multiplying by 2. For OKW i think it's +25%/+33% on vet 4/5 respectively.
Stuka: 1424
PW: 1256
Calliope: 2020
Land Mattress: 1256
Suxton: 2020
OKW LeFH: 1200
SU 152mm: 1200
OH LefH: 1200
Priest: 2110


IS2 is comparable to Tiger not KT. Pershing should be between IS2 and Panther. (Edit: this is my thoughts prior to looking into it)

That been said:

OH Panther: 2530
Pershing: 2720
OKW Panther: 2730
OH Tiger: 3440
IS2: 3920
KT: 4040

So you are just complaining about "feels".

exp level requirement is calculated from the unit cost. 1 mp = 1 exp and 1 fuel = 4 exp. The formula basically work for most units, but unit cost have drifted over the years and the vet requirement are rarely updated.

towed howitzer have actually relatively low vet requirement because of the 1/4 fuel:mp exchange rate.

They used to cost 600 mp, but later had their cost adjusted to 400mp 50 fuel to make them more affordable.

Vet 5 volks do lose to vet 3 double bar riflemen close, as they should, riflemen are more expensive and have more invested in upgrades. OKW have the option of getting obers for more heavy anti infantry to counter-act this, USF only get access to stronger anti-inf squads in a couple commanders.

As for your "feelings" this patch, barely anything changed with regards to veterancy, so it is all in your head.
