Just now I had another lag hacker going by konstantinopol or something like that. This p2p networking is just awful and completely unacceptable from whatever viewpoint you want to take.

More than 60% of my games are decided by someone lagging out or blatantly hacking. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

no idea what you are talking about.
ive now played over a hundred games and did not face any form of hack so far.
sure from time to time there is some lag. but not noticably more than in any other rts i played so far.

since we are playing the same game, maybe the problem is with your connection?

If 60% of games are decided by lagging and hacking - you should quickly put your money on the euromillions.

Show some replays of these blatent hackers, because it sounds like you are blaming losses and lag on hacking.

Played a game yesterday where I was stuck in 00:00:00 limbo for 5 minutes before finally quitting.
makes me suspicious since it was against a level 100 who didn't responf

I've had this happen 3 games in a row. However, two of the other guys at least chatted and it seemed to affect both of us and they seemed as surprised as me.
Restarting Steam and checking the game for integrity (also waited an hour or two, playing other stuff) fixed it for me, so you might want to try that.

It might also be related to peer to peer because the loading screen always showed the other player as not loading but we were both in the game and could chat, so the other guy must have loaded but the information was lost somewhere in the depths of the internetz.

Not saying some people may not be doing it on purpose. Some people were doing stuff like that in CoH1 to rack up stupid win streaks without even playing. Their loading bar would go up to a certain point and then never further unless you'd quit the game, upon which they'd just requeue. Unless in this case, it was 100% intentional on their part.
I once got one of those assholes in my last match of the day and instead of quitting, I just kept the machine running for over 36 hours, after which he must have quit himself because I got a win for it. What a waste of perfectly fine electricity but what else are you supposed to do? :/

Pretty sure it is just a bug. Had two games a few weeks ago in a row where I got cataclaw and my game got stuck at loading screen but he loaded into the game. Had to reastart steam and the game to fix it.

Note that there is a SYNC bug in the game.

If you take massive amounts of time longer to load than everyone else, you'll be in the loading screen for the first few 'ticks' of the game. When you finally join, you'll be out of sync. The game will "try" to catch up, but 9 times out of 10 it will fail, and just sit there.

The same thing can happen if someone crashes (CTD or system); the game won't have given a proper "player left" message to the network, so it'll sit there and wait for the crashed player to "catch up".... which of course won't happen. In that case, the game seems to figure it out about 50% of the time.

It's not great, but it's hard to fix; it's because its P2P networking.

:/

Also; it can happen to anyone. You might crash, your friends computer might be loading slowly for no reason, etc. You can't really blame people for it.

CoH3 will probably happen. It's too big a cash cow not to, somewhere down the line.

Dedicated servers? LOL Good luck

It is fairly obvious when the game runs along fine for a while, then you kill a critical unit of his, the game suddenly completely freezes and displays the other guy is lagging and after a couple of seconds you are greeted with the defeat screen.
