New stuff on the way!

Festung Armor Doctrine

Festung Support Doctrine

Jaeger Armor Doctrine

Also, i have found one very big poster with 5 commanders portraits, but their resolution a little bit lower, that of portraits in this thread. (3508x2480 of poster, and somewhat 100x140 of portraits)

And some portraits of USSR buildings:

NOTE

If somebody has bought DVD version of CoH 2 (and you have bought it in 2013), or maybe back up of earlier version (again from 2013) - contact me!

as much as i appreciate your other efforts to add consistency to the icons and descriptions, i tend to disagree on the commander portraits here. i feel the well-thumbed, sepia look of the current icons creates a much deeper immersion into the wwII theme than your cleaned-up overhaul. just my 2 cents, of course. still, gl with your project

I got the DVD version as well.

I am not sure, how is it working, but we have two variants:
1. Simply extract archives from DVD and give link here.
2. If first variant impossible to do, install vanilla coh 2 from DVD in separate folder, and extract from there archives and give link here.
3. You copy everthing from your DVD, download it on mediafire(or other) and give link to me.

Thank you for you opinion! Don't worry, i am not deveoper of patches, iow it is just suggestion, which i want to make. I dreamed about it for a long time, and now started to work with it.
At least, other modmakers can use this database for their mods,or customise coh 2 in future (if relic finaly allow to edit images, sounds and etc.) :)

GUYS! DAS IST BINGO!!!
Don't ask me how, but i have found near by 80% of beta portraits. Now we have:

All USSR commanders UPDATE: Not all, i have missed some of them (check out which i still need in first post)
All Ostheer commanders UPDATE: Not all, i have missed some of them (check out which i still need in first post)
All units portraits from teching (except Summer Grenadiers iirc)
All base buildings portraits (except USSR T2 winter and German bunkers)

I put them in rar, you can download them here. Everybody can use them ^_^ :
http://www.mediafire.com/file/8wwnhdycovwynlw/Portraits.rar

And with only commanders portraits (it goes to QoL suggestion first post):
http://www.mediafire.com/file/2ttt4g4blzyalfi/Only+commanders.rar

What still missed:
Call-in units portraits (Except DShK and HM-38)

It is not my work, portraits like here were in CoH 2 in april 2013 (during CoH 2 Beta stress test), and then were downgraded. I want to bring them back to the game, but here is the problem - i can't find some portraits in internet at all. That's why list of portraits at the moment not full.

I have found good source, but this source doesn't include portraits of doctrine units, and has wrong portraits for USSR T2(i have found only T2 summer in other site) and german Grenadiers summer portrait. That's why you can't find them in this thread.

But i still hope somebody has them, or maybe find them somewhere -_-

What still missed

Neutral stuff

What's new else:
Updated mini-icons for 5 soviet and 3 ostheer commanders. Now all of them standardized.
Some portraits were in .jpg. Now all of them in .png (except soviet T2).
Links to collection updated.

In game files you can find for example this:

And i suggest this:

Or another variant:
In the game files

And in this collection:

Also, today i have found this thread:
https://community.companyofheroes.com/discussion/118111/tutorial-using-custom-icons
In this were listed requirements for portraits size

Portraits: 152x190

I hope today or tommorow i will update all collection to this requirement. :snfAmi:

They do look pretty nice, if not a less gritty, but I'm sure that's the entire point of the project.

Personally I think it's the colour and overall image quality that's the issue, not the gritty worn out photo -ness.

Colour is also the reason, why i am collecting this beauty portraits. Colors on them are simply better, because they don't have mist on them. As i said before, the reasons, why i am doing it:
Current portraits for EFA looks like damaged (USF and UKF variants looks not damaged)
They are decolored, especially winter variants. Winter portraits for WFA and UKF not decolored
BTW thank you for your opinion :-)

So, i have found one gut and fast method to edit portraits to current design, so i hope it will be fast enough.

Now, i want to present finished commanders portraits, which fit to current design in the game. Since now i can say, that major work with recover of commanders portraits finished.
