Penal squads flamethrowers

There was once a doc that gave riflemen flamethrowers. It was horrible and university hated by everyone, some would say it broke the game. The flamethrowers were removed.

Fast forward to now, Penals are a high dps long range frontline squad with a flamethrower? Does anyone else see a new problem?

The problem with Riflemen Flamethrowers was that the Rifles will kill you out of cover and the Flamethrowers will kill you in cover

The men also still continue to do good mid-long range DPS unlike other flamethrower squads

You're meant to avoid flamethrowers by not standing in cover or keeping your distance in a 1 on 1 squad fight, Penals make this hard with their SVTs

They've had it for years yet it never redeemed them in the many when they were just bad. Any problems definitely can't be because of the flamethrower.

With the new Penals I've been using the flamethrower less unless I need it for some building clearing but the satchel does the work vs the slow packing mgs inside. But the new Penal with flamethrower doesn't do as much harm like the U.S rifles when they had flames. They could as stated before throw nades, launch smoke , and use an AT nades.

They have access to snipers and guards. I would argue that this combo is stronger than rifles with flames.

Since when Guards are able in T1?

Why people forgeting so easy, that Guards are doctrinal mid-period coming infantry..?

2CP and if you go T1 you should probably invest in a guard doctrine. In most games you can get 2cp Guards before any light vehicles come out.

People forget that Rifles also arrived with xp enough to be between vet1 and vet2.
Rifles with vet early on, into M20 and fast shermans.

I think it should be doctrinal, otherwise give sturms the flamer option non doc too. Russians already have pio flamers. I definitely agree that penals need price increase at the very least. They are insane value at the moment.

That was back when bulletins stacked, so 3x 10% vet meant that a lot of rifles arrived at vet 2. It badly needed nerfing.

snipers have also 0 AT capability, they are fine then

I find them to be some what of a problem, especially on maps like ellterbrook station. Where city fighting takes place. Not to mention they synch well with guards.

But as for the flame thrower yes it should never be allowed on mainline infantry.

I would suggest a swap for a DP28

meta is different. flamers were waaaaaaaaay more OP back thenn.

penals come out later. penals are more expensive. penals lack AT nade. T1 slows teching since you need t2 for at gun & mortar. could skip to t3 but will lack AT guns
