Played some games vs OKW and the STG upgrade is a quite powerful tool. Gives you much more map presence.
I have been watching some games where USF went 2x early mortar and get naturally rekt by OKW. Mortar are good to counter statics, which is not really the case of early OKW.

These side upgrades were a matter of "WHEN", not "IF" after the resource penalty removal.


Thx dude, I just can't stand people still saying OKW deserve that much of a nerf.

OKW was op a bit and encourage blobing, but this nerf was simply too much.

Thats what i said already omg. He said okw pays for healing (others has it free for sure) I said okw doesnt pay for other things which paid by other factions. Now you are telling me allies get free things DID I MENTION ALLIES GET EVERYTHING FREE?

USF mortar is bugged and vet3 bonus is applied at vet0.

It's going to be so entertaining when I wake up tomorrow morning and see all the wehraboos crying their little eyes out because they have to change their play style up and use anti guns - and volks into king tiger isn't winning them games anymore.

Then they will cry about how OP USF is and then they will go on coh2charts.com and pull the win percentage and show it as proof...only to have conveniently forgot how OKW was up to 90% win percentage...and when that was going down, it was a "l2p" issue.

Hahahahahahahahah. The roller coaster ride of coh continues.

Yeah except usf have been highest win ratio in 1v1 and other allied factions highest in 2v2 higher than rank 500. Typical obnoxious spiteful post from someone who clearly feels big when there is an imbalance in his favour.

Just to clarify and summarize;

The M3 rush meta and somewhat the jeep is broken against OKW. Also investing on a P43 that early when you have to from a decent AI force to survive against inf rush is imba.



You either fight against an infantry heavy rush, or a vehicle heavy rush earlygame. Not both.

(Unless of course, you get stacked on 2v2's and bigger games, in which case your teammate should help and it's no longer a balance issue)

On a side note, even if your enemies were to go heavy on vehicles earlygame, you have a tier 0 AT-gun that costs 270 manpower, has decent penetration, and was buffed last patch. The panzerfaust is supposed to be only a snare ability and having to tech for it is normal for it's intended use.

Contrary to the old metagame in which you could just run head-on into anything with shrecks and then retreating once you hit your target for a maximized low risk high reward playstyle, you should try adapting and, for example, playing a defensive earlygame. (maybe placing some mines down with your sturmpioneers, to catch light vehicles off guard?)

OKW need to pay 400mp and 55fuel for a medic station


but USF pay for bars , zooks ,nades ,medambulance.

why you get weapons upgrade without weapon racks you don't have to get back to base [wermaht,okw]

why you got blitz on some of the tanks[wermaht,okw]

why greens get free AT nades from the start [wermaht]

why you get free salvag ? you need to pay first.. [okw]

why your pios now build sand bags ,pay for it ?[wermaht]

this all are unique qualities that should be free ,there are some things you shouldn't get free for better balance

I'm not a fan of making up a new stock unit just to fill the AT infantry role. Sturmpioniers is bloated with roles, but their high cost prevents blobbing as much as Panzergrenadiers, which for their part do less work and are a T2 unit.
Besides going back to Volks, the only other choice is Obers, which come too late at T4.

They clearly compensated by making Rak43 pretty much equivalent to any actual AT Gun though, I'm still getting used to treating it with longer range, it feels like you're firing a pistol only to have it shoot like a rifle. Relic clearly wants OKW to use team weapons over infantry blobs.
Now it's USF's turn to become Soviet/ UKF clone. Patch 2017 here we come!

To summarize again.

Faust should probably be in line with grens, and teching is required otherwise T1 openings with scout car would be useless.

The cost of medics is just to bring that cost in line with other factions. Why should OKW get a free set of medics? Check conversion ratios before you complain. If the cost is completely out of whack it can be reduced slightly.

Volks should function as front line fillers, not one stop shop for wins (volks blobs suck to play against so thankful they are now impossible). The AT they got was way too early and way too strong, combined with their rapid vet made light vehicle play unrewarding. In response they get a powerful AI upgrade that forces Allied units to pay to upgrade their own AI to stay on par, or get bled heavily. Meanwhile OKW can continue to tech for specialist units. Don't forget they get passive healing with vet, so avoiding the medic upgrade is doable.

OKW is a faction about specialization, use that in your assumptions about the game. I feel strongly that you do not yet understand the patch or the new OKW.

Volks losing faust is a bug, no point in defending that, it should be hot fixed immediately.

I don't understand why OKW is complaining about having side upgrades...for once. How is ~100 manpower and 15 fuel too expensive, or "fucking stupid" for medics...when USF has to pay 100 something manpower and 25 fuel just to throw a hand grenade. Not to mention 250 manpower and 10 fuel for an ambo.

Can anyone please answer me this question and explain how OKW players can possibly find a way to complain, or am I losing my mind over here?

Let's look at USF healing and upgrades. To get an ambulance, a bar on a rife squad, and a hand grenade...the USF has to spend 4/500 manpower (exact number eludes me), 45 fuel and 60 munitions. All just to have proper healing, a bar and a hand grenade...

Lol, this thread is hilarious. OKW babbies crying that their faction was finally brought in line with the others. Every other faction has to pay for medics, why shouldn't OKW?

Volks are no longer omnipotent anti-everything machines of death - a very welcome change. Finally OKW has to use combined arms to reach the full potential.

OKW still has a vast range of non-doc tools for every situation. How about you start actually using them instead of bitching that the faction doesn't allow Volks into KT anymore?

I agree that Panzerschrecks on Sturmpioneers is a weird change, though. I believe they would make more sense on Obersoldaten but that unit comes too late. Maybe if they switched Obers with Walking Stuka... but it's no secret that Lelic isn't likely to make changes to the teching order.
