First - this is a game, the more variety - so much better
Second - CoH2 so far from historicity. Take Soviets - skins are wrong, the fraction is a mix of 1941 and 1944 units
what kind of historicity in question?

How about playing a football game where you also have to shoot to the targets using sports rifle, swim to get through the court and dance macarena to the fans

It's meant to be authentic not historical, everything is alright except mixing fronts which already happened on lesser scale

They could make soviets vs japs in china and totally avoid atlantic. Unequal armies? Who cares, there always ways to make faction usefull, sure japs would not have supertanks, but they could recieve all other kind of stuff, including land lease shreks on their 6 man squads, lol.
I would enjoy DAC with bikes and 88s more tho.

Exactly, the Japanese against the USSR would be better than the Japanese against the US reasons:
- In China, the Japanese had winter clothes
- More options maps (mountains, grasslands, forests, cities)

I tend to agree that Japanese wouldn't make much sense. That's also why i think a lot of people would have loved to see Afrika Korps, since they fought versus the Commonwealth and especially British, who are already in the game. I wouldn't mind Japanese either, but alongside a new Allies army, IE US Marines, and only AFTER DAK is added. But that's my wish, and i'm an axis fanboy

If you want Japan, first play soviets and use conscripts, M-42 AT guns, booby traps and t-70s only.

Relic once said that they wanted to create the ultimate ww2 platform. So even Japs don't fit in European Theatre, we might still see them in the future and i wouldn't actually mind it.
I will simply lol at anyone expecting such a change to a 2 year old general use infantry.
Equally possible are pershing for USF, IS-3 for soviets or ober nerf for OKW.

I was against the United States because CoH2 was supposed to be on the Eastern Front. But the Americans came, what a difference now that the Japanese come, the game turned into fractions landfill
