I feel bad for the people who hope for a japanese faction.
How would the Japanese take out a Pershing?
Besides, how would there be an Italian faction? All of these factions represent a 1944/45 war, not a 1943 war.

Turn down the hype and think about it: ONE person (->Nigo) said he saw a title (->"Landing Forces", a stupid title to begin with) , which noone else can see any longer and noone made a screenshot of. Thats the only clue we have and you guys are talking about new factions.
New SteamDB entries for CoH2 appear every 2 weeks or so, alongside the one described in the first post are 8 others created on the same day. So...8 factions incoming?? Or someone just using that fact to do an aprils fools joke?...
(remember that KoH2 should be only on the Eastern Front)

Both factions are possible to make, and I am sure Relic has thought about both alternatives for the sixth army in CoH2.

if its italy it would be great. for once axis will have a faction that handicaps them like usf used to be.
1. Relic bans, not me. 2. It stands in the rules: If you are banned more often, the duration increase and can lead in the end to permaban 3. The Case is bigger as you guys think. So pls step 1 step away pls. 4. I am not a player in the 4vs4 cup, because of RL work.

A Japanese faction could work playing only against another new faction (Pacific Allies). Mixing a Japanese faction with the current armies would be stupid, to be historically accurate the new Japanese faction would be incredibly underpowered.
But a Pacific front could be really nice: amphibious vehicles, heavy dependence on munitions instead of fuel (naval support and aerial support were much more useful than tanks usually), jungles, camouflage, ambushes, marines, flamethrower Shermans, kamikazes...
Anyway, if there is any update it will most likely be a new campaign for the British.

It is in Relic's interest to make new content for this game. Both the single player campaign and a new faction are possible in the future. I think it is impossible that Relic launches a new faction in May with new commanders as in the "leaked picture", because they must make marketing for it, but it is possible that they do it later in this year. And it lies in their interest that they chose the right faction.
The British single player campaign (or new commanders) doesn't need so much marketing, and they could launch it pretty soon, if they had one ready.
Now, we cannot be sure of anything, because of the April Fools Day. Everything or only a part could be a joke, or they could also launch a British Campaign DLC in the near future and ask about the new faction in the "leak", that is to see what reactions a picture and some rumours about a Japanese faction would give in this community.

Now that I see a further "leak" by Nigo about the Afrika Korps, it is even more possible that they ask through these April Fools Day jokes which faction this community do prefer.

Only if theyre going to make enough money out of it. So it really depends on how well Ardennes Assault sold. CoH2 is and old game now, theyre probably working on something else now.

They can almost copy paste everything from Ardennes Assault, and just make a British Campaign from D-Day to V-Day through different battles, and sell it. Doesn't require much work, and it gives money to them.

Sorry but that is simply not true.
AA was pretty much the same thing and its still questionable if it made enough money for them to consider another SP expansion pack

AA was selling at a high price, at least until the end of Sept 2015 (when OCF finished). That's a year at a high price. I doubt if they would have have kept the price that high for so long, unless it was yielding a return.

I loved Market Garden in OF. I think it was very well designed.
I don't know why they left ToW. I for one loved it. There are a lot of possibilities for ToW. We could have a lot of battles there, without the difficulties of a full SP campaign.
Ah, see, from the Jerry side there's choices since they had to react to it.
From the British side, it's just Paras attacking and fending off counterattacks in towns and infantry+armour trying to link up ASAP.
Which...I'd frankly be fine with, I just feel like they would regard that as too little content variation.
