I think this would add a new and interesting dynamic to gameplay, and give mortars and other artillery more late game utility.

also snipers who are put in tall buildings should be able to snipe opentop tanks. also i suggest that stunnades also apply to opentop tanks

But the driver sits inside the covered chassis- why would he run off when hit by minor explosives.
Maybe decrew or disable the main gun but abandoning is a bit far fetched.

Except everyone would counter by just not using open-top tanks and you're back to square one.

If anything, mortars should stun vehicles if a direct hit, and stun more often when it's open-top.

I believe for halftracks troops are already prone to taking damage inside them too.
Oh yeah, and you'd have to justify leIG and pak howitzer doing the same thing. Then we're REALLY going back to square one.

Yes, but all tanks should be abandoned when hit by mortars, not just the open tops. After all, a mortar round would be pretty hard to distinguish from a p47 rocket from inside, so the crew would probably run away just in case. Also, so long as we're at it we should implement random air supremacy/artillery shells throughout the game. To better capture the feeling of WWII. Oh and every penetrating shot should be a kill.


Let's have a 30 munition ability hardcountering a 350 mp 125 Fuel tank.... ( In the case of grenades)

Let's have a 240 mp unit hard counter a 350mp 125 fuel tank...


Flame throwers I agree with but the ability for RNG mortars and Frag Grenades to instantly decrew a tank is stupid.

I dont support this idea to a point.

I wouldn't mind heavy artillery having a chance to abandon vehicals at a certain amount of health. Gives static artillery a decent buff.

As some people have said, a mortor should not be-able to counter a vehical at any level of RNG expecially considering its cost.
