Never used it(ok, used it a couple of times to see what actually is all the fuss about), never felt the need to use it.
Flamer RETs with old cost wouldn't be the issue people try to make it seem and they certainly wouldn't become meta. They have ok scaling, but not that good like rifles.

Cheaper than CE, 5 men at vet 3, can equip a flamer + ( Bar, lmg, zook )

We all seen RE only build working, i never seen a CE build only working

so yes its could be worse if RE remained at 160 Mp and can equip flamer




Mass RE works so well because it scaled. Between weapon upgrades, good vet bonuses and the overall composition of the US mid game army they provided a way to have a very cost effective but weaker early game yet have a similar endgame.

It was one of my favourite builds for awhile last year.

Mass CE could work, but there's no real point to doing it other than to have multiple flamers or spam demo charges.



Bug (squad_member_count accidentally changed from 5 to 4):




If this formula is true. Then this was the old price:
squad_cost = 160
squad_member_count = 5
160/(2*5) -> 160/10 = 16 MP reinforcement

but now its
squad_cost = 200
squad_member_count = 5
200/(2*5) -> 200/10 = 20 MP reinforcement (whutt???? math???)

The bug is Relic changed the squad_member_count from 5 to 4 IN ADDITION TO increasing manpower so now you have a whopping +9 MP penality.

Right now its:
squad_cost = 200
squad_member_count = 4
200/(2*4) -> 200/8 = 25 MP reinforcement (bad)


Hope this gets fixed soon. 20 mp would still be okay.

Mass CE never works because mass cons does everything better and at cheaper price (1mp less) and cons scale wayyy better.
As I said before, just add a group debuff like vCOH pio spam debuff and RE will be fine, why do they nerf RE so that they only works with rifle company (the commander should be called RE company), other strat that relies on RE gets shafted (RIP WC51 + RE, pathfinder + RE) and US is now even more susceptible to sniper. USF have many problem but RE is sure as heck not one of them.

Tell that to vCOH Brit that get rekted by Pio spam. As for RE, because nerfing one unit to make it viable in only 1 commander make so much sense than fixing blobbing problems. RE got shafted because of RE spam cheese, otherwise nobody complains about them.

Could someone clarify - was the old RE reinforce cost a bug or is the current patched version a bug?

I'm confused because I didn't see anything in the patch notes about upping the cost or is that a just a side-effect of upping their cost to 200 MP.

On a side note does that mean they upped Volks reinforce cost as well?

Nvm.

Also i dont anyone who will trade 3 MP reinforce cost with better raw DPS , more utility - at/ai greandes , smoke , better vet and much bigger survivability (vet 3 rec.acc.bonus)

it should've been ass engi or some other way to get flamers.

in order to band-aid fix almost certain RE flamer spam, they made it fucking 200mp/25mp.

least thing they can do is reduce the reinforce cost to 20mp.

Make them 180mp and 22/23mp to ensure they remain effective at recrewing weapons as those modifers are built into the squad

or

Significantly buff their accuracy to quite a bit where they are now a threat.

I have to agree with the point of why should normal base RE get nerfed to balance it under the conditions of one going Rifle Company so the rest are penalized. 25mp to reinforce is over the top and should be getting M2 carbines. HAHA :rofl:

It's funny how Relic changes shit that not needed a change. Always, for 2 years long.
That's their idea of refreshing the game. Revamp a few things every now and then and consider the resulting mess a solution.
