Schrecks on Volks was really stupid design from the beggining.
You cannot give most powerful handheld AT to the cheapest infantry which will gain vet 5 in a blink of an eye because of schreck.

It was fine on PzGrens.
It could be fine on SP (Volks could receive other upgrades).

But schreck on Volks is like 1919 on buffed, 5men RE since 4th min mark. You cannot put late-game upgrades on the cheapest infantry.

Sure, you can put 1919 or RE but they are squishy and they don't get good veterancy buffs, opoosite to volks.

It's not about countering but about general design.
+ countering very often has nothing to do with it.
Pathfinding is the main reason most of the time.

I usually lose my tanks to the fucking pathing instead of "bad play".
Sure sometimes I greed to much and get trapped but then it's absolutely my fault.
But still most of the time its my JP4 doing Doughnuts in front of a Bazooka/AT blob instead of just driving backwards even if there is no single obstacle in a radius of 10 kilometres.

My three main problems with shreck bloberinos:

1. Pathfinding.

Stop turning left and right before reversing jackson and just phase through the tank that's behind you please god.

2. Long range accuracy of shrecks.

Still find it too high, all you gotta do is hit at max range and you have 80% chance of hitting any armor that comes your way. That, and bazooka feels like it misses far more than the shreck ever does.

3. Cheapest infantry unit for OKW with vet 5 available is the one with shrecks.

I don't find that good game design.

But then again, I rather fight OKW shreck blobs than pak wall ostheer. So it really comes down to what your pet peeve is.

People still blob volks with Schreck? I thought those days are gone or players that do that are so deep in elo hell that I never going to face them.

Just like since WFA my opinion on that is that schrecks need to be moved to specialist AT squad and volks need to have AI upgrades.

I've seen schrecks curve to hit their target. Also the range of schrecks are crazy. Basically it's like a at gun (not quite) but still darn far. Meanwhile zooks you gotta be right next to them.

If they are not going to nerf schrecks long range abilities, they should make it so volks can only get one schreck instead of two. Problem solved.

That's like every projectile in the game. The game decides if it hits when you shoot, and after that nothing will stop it.

Accuracy nerf? Don't they look enough inaccurate for you now? Range? What is their range problem ffs?

Ok, nerf both but I want double damage or cost reduction to 50 amo for volks and 90 amo for dual pzgren shreck. Does it sound silly? It does?
So does sound all these nerf whinings about shrecks. Geez.

make the blob panic and retreat
drive any fast tonk to retreat point
crush all bunched up infantry or force them to retreat again back to main base

Shrek blobs, while annoying, are not the death tornado they once were. If you see your opponent getting blobs get anti blob devices, tanks are usually not it. MG's, flames, demo's, mines, Howies, mortars, all do a fine job.

The problem I have is that Shreks are still sniping infantry at close range regularly and this should not be the case.

Inc nade range ensures that volks counter suppression head-on, unless they approach garrison from the side its set up.

As long as Volksgrens remain the weakest standard-infantry in the game, I´m against a Schreck nerf. They can barely compete. At least they are still useful for an AT role. A supportive AT role that is, because any half decent player will kite.

Funny how Volks in real life were known to carry an abundance of automatic weapons like the MP40s and shit, but in the game they run around with schreks like there's no tomorrow. They should have a non-doc assault package upgrade with 3 mp40s(like the SU assault package) - now this would be kewl(give them an at-nade that doesn't snare but will deter light vehicles), then give a schrek to pios at a 70 muni cost, or something. They should though on the other hand probably get reduced vet from the schrecks otherwise we'll see Pio blobs vet 5 all the time..

I actually think the schreck are in good spot. They shouldn maybe, maybe reduce range 5 meters because it's dumb they can shoot almost as far as standard armor. I know realism isn't first aim of game but effective range of hand held AT was about 80 meters and armor could engage other armor at hundreds of meters. Also this would make schreck players use more tactical maneuvers to get close not just A move forward and hope for bad pathing

Tell that to zooks. They will hit anything in it's path before hitting the tank not to mention it's limited range. I've never seen a zook curve to it's target lol

IMO they should make it exactly like zooks (meaning cut its range, accuracy, and allow it to hit shit in it's path, and don't let it heat seek), but leave how strong it is in regards to dmg and pen.
