way to check if coh2 servers are up or down

so like something in the corner of the site that says coh2 servers are online or offline. i don't know if this is possible (because it might not be automate-able if it isn't then won't work)

I can't check right now, but if someone knows a way to do it, we could imagine adding it.
Some hints if anyone wants to help :
- existing api (relic ? steam ?) telling it directly ?
- server ip ? static ?
- when server is down, how is it down? ping works?
- if ping still works, what would be the login request/answer when it's down?
- ?
