the vickers isn't worth 280 mp. Its dps isn't that amazing while its suppression feels significantly weaker than the other mg.
By comparison the hmg42 will suppress and kill as just good if not better while being 20 mp cheaper.

I quite like it for the most part. After all, it's an Allied MG that covers a massive area and gets really good with Vet. Just wish it had more abilities and an original portrait.

I love how lone volk squad can crawl into vickers, throw grenade and force it to retreat.
If Relic don't want to step aside from "expensive but very powerful units" conception with Brits by reducing vickers cost, it should pin in 2nd burst like hmg42 does.

Considering the Vickers kinda clowns an all other MG's veterancy I would say it's well worth the 280 MP.

Isn't it pretty much a complete copy-paste from the MG42?
Although i have no idea about exact stats i can tell it somewhat lower damage and significantly weaker suppression.
For 280mp instead of 260mp on faction which bleed mp much more.

The MG42 doesn't get 25% more range/sight in buildings/garrisons at Vet 1, and the penetration buff at Vet 2 gives it more pen than the HMG42.

the mg42 get the awesome incendiary round at vet 1, and the vicker's vet1 bonus require it to be in a building or the tommies to build a 50 mp trench.
the mg42 get +30% weapon suppression and the vicker get +30% weapon penetration. If I want the mg42 to kill vehicle at vet 2 I can just pop the ability.
the Weapon penetration bonus on the vicker is kind of meh. 2.47\2.08\1.69 is hardly useful against anything more durable than the 222.
Vickers also comes way quicker than a Mg34 or a .50 cal.
and the hmg42 arrive at the same time as the vicker. The .50cal isn't even the vicker's direct opponent.

I think your underestimating how powerful having 56 range while in buildings or trenches is but like I said I wouldn't be that opposed to it being 260 MP.

I don't mind the hmg42 being cheaper yet more cost effective than other HMGs because that should IMO be a "signature unit" of Ostheer, just like Riflemen for USF, Clowncar for Sovs, and OKW kubel.
Off topic, what I do mind is factions getting exceptional units that don't match their flavor. (LMG grens, pack howie, IS-2, Panzerfusiliers/Luchs, etc.)
