How to fix Oustruppen the Doctrine.


- Replace the conversion of fuel to munitions with a passive conversion of fuel to manpower (like 20% less fuel income but 33% more MP income)

- Replace railway artillery with the Command Panther; which gives it's bonus's to infantry and tanks but only has 3 levels of veterancy and no mark target.



i would never use the doctrine again; railway is my favorite global even if it is meh.

I'd be happy if they just got ambush camo just like the Ost commander ability. Then they could occasionally actually damage things maybe, sometimes.

I'd be happy if they just got ambush camo just like the Ost commander ability. Then they could occasionally actually damage things maybe, sometimes.
Just like jagdpanzer4 i dont think they should be able to recloak in combat. Make it like ambush camoflage for wehr and give it the damage bonus, this way it encourages you to ambush and fall back because it makes sense that partisans would shitty but have the upperhand in an ambush.

or just buff their dps and drop their price by like 20 mp but keep the cloak out of combat in cover no damage bonus.

As long as you see the mark above the squad, the bonus is active.

It definitely works for light (yellow) cover and heavy (green) cover. The only positive cover it doesn't work in is building cover.

Do you have a replay or screenshot? Perhaps the entities aren't all quite in cover or perhaps some specific piece of cover is bugged?

I think Irregulars should be buffed to their previous state, to represent Soviet soldiers who were left behind during Barbarossa and fought as a guerrilla force until the Red Army could recapture the area.

Partisans, once you need to retreat them, they're essentially useless. I'm not sure what to do with them, though. Some sort of long term sustainability away from base would be nice, but how?

Worst thing is, relic made partisans and irregulars the way they are because "its civilians rubblerubblerbble".

Lets ignore the fact that one whole soviet army was encircled and went fucking partisans, training civilians and fighting along them.

Some possible changes to improve partisans:
1. Give the sprint.
Sprint allows them better mobility behind enemy lines and allows them
to "retreat" without actually retreating.

2. Allow them to decap rapidly but can't cap
To align more with their roles as an ambush unit disrupting enemy
lines.

3. Give them ambush camouflage
Makes potential ambushes more lethal

4. Allow them to reinforce from ambient buildings
This allows them to sell the image that they aren't necessarily part of the army but civilians fighting
in the war.

5. Allow them to hide while in cover and have hold fire
Allows them to perform as recon units. Also useful for ambushes.

6. Increase their squad size to 5 or 6 but spawn with 4
To show that partisans weren't always as well equipped as the red army
but meeting with the red army allows them to be more equipped to fight
against the Germans.

None of it will ever work as long as osttruppen out DPS them.

None of it will ever work as long as osttruppen out DPS them.

With a bit of buff to their stats plus some clear purpose for their role they could really shine as a behind the lines unit.
Take for example:
Giving partisans sprint+fast decap would emphasize a role of disrupting enemy lines or giving them ambush camouflage+reinforce from ambient building and less reinforcement costs emphasizes a long lasting ambush unit.

I don't necessarily think that they shouldn't be compared stat wise with Osttruppen both have different roles to play, they just need a clear role to play and give them the tools to make it happen. As of now just spawning out of ambient buildings is not enough but with some tweaks (and new abilities) they could be really good in the right hands.
