Why not get rid of the Vet 5 system all together? Vet 5 is just a broken mechanic just like vCOH Wehr was able to purchase Vet 3 on all units.



Because its special snowflake neat. Relic should have two abilty unlocks (some already have a few) and again the combat utility shouldnt be better then other factions when they reach vet. Especially when you consider the already advantaged state these units start with in terms of firepower (Falls/Obers/Pfuse with G43s).


It's starting to feel less like people want balance, and more for OKW just to be ironed down into Ostheer 2.0

Factions can be unique with out being OP/UP. The Vet system is a problem for Volks because they vet up to fast, but for other OKW units it takes ages to vet up due to the fact your almost ALWAYS shooting at lower cost units.

The Sturmtiger/Stuka are probably the hardest to vet units in this game, simply because of what they shoot at.

A vet 5 squad should be more durable than a vet 3 squad because in this instant squad wipe RNG meta that person has probably done a fair bit of micro to keep said squad alive.

If we are talking about Volks, I agree that they should get less veterancy from shreks.

Squad whipes and heavy AI are the advantage of Allies. Anti tank is the advantage of Axis. You cant have your cake and eat it too (unless playing OKW currently).

Slippery slope fallacy has no place in balance discussion. But to humor you the reason OKW has 5 levels of vet is to reflect the late war German army and to make the faction more distinct.

Allies AI abilities are no more or less effective based on the vet level of the unit it's shooting at.

I agree, OKW right now has the best AI and AT option in a single army, all non-doctrinal btw.

What dream world do you live in were the Puppchen is the best AT option in the game? Can I go there? And If OKW has the best AI it must finally mean relic gave every faction demo charges and finally gave OKW some indirect fire to play with.

You are assuming something must be the case because a previous item was true. When in fact 5 levels of Vet are not and never have been "Needed".

I think 5 levels of Vet should stay as it makes OKW unique. But it should provide utility not direct superior combat power. Especially when the units they go on often times are elite at vet 0.

You are assuming something must be the case because a previous item was true. When in fact 5 levels of Vet are not and never have been "Needed".


5 levels of vet are not "needed" it's just a feature because Relic wanted OKW to be unique instead of Ostheer 2.0.

If a person puts the effort into getting a Vet 5 squad, they deserve the vet 5 bonus's. It's fairly rare on any unit that's not Volks. And Ostheer doesn't have vet 5 because Ostheer isn't OKW. Not really hard logic to follow.

And nor is my logic. Keep Vet 5 get your rewards. The rewards for Vet 4 and 5 should not be combat related. They should be utility. And Vet 1-3 should match the bonuses in every relevant peer in other factions. As is the normal case with 3 factions of 4.

Have you seen what they can do as well? At optimal range, in green cover, they melt infantry like hot knife butter, yet I can read they're worthless from majority of OKW players. At Vet5 they are just insane.

Have you seen the vets of other factions as well then. you complain are not valid vet 5 is balanced because its nearly impossible to reach vet 5 and okw units do not start with vet 5 . volks only become decent when they reach vet 5.

Not to mention Volks vet at insane rate with standard shrek upgrades. I will say Rifles is the same, but upgrading zooks depends on a situation and the squad has to go back and pick them up (not to mention their vet limit is 3).

because of the vehicle damage multiplyer on infantry units in reguards to veterancy. a volks squad gets a vet level every time their pansershreck connects with a vehicle

1 or 2? :lol: 1 or 2 maybe but versus bad opponent. Good player with good micro will get 3-5 vet5 Volks.

One time I played against a total OKW blobber, he just ran in Obers and Schrecks into my forces with the occasional Panther that I usually killed with two Jacksons and a 57mm. The blob was grinded down each time by my Scott. I won, but his Obers that didn't get wiped still ended up getting like vet 4 or 5 by the end of it, which was incredibly offensive to my sensibilities.

Against a scrub who uses volks as mine sweepers and tank traps maybe.
Watch any stream, you'll see a whole Milky Way around 18 min mark.
4-5 vet5 volks is not rarity, its common outside of Scrubville.
