no crits on abandoned vehicle?

Don't know if it's a bug or a rarely common feature but in one game I was able to capture an abandoned T34 that was killed by pak and schrecks and had no critical damage at all - I was able to drive to next repair shop with full speed :D. Anyone encountered that, too?
