Since volks are considered to be a mashup of hardened vets, walking wounded, I propose something along the finally lines.

Instead of a homogeneous group of 5 volks models, have 2 models be much tougher and accurate than a standard volks (veteran core), one model be a normal volks (walking wounded), 2 models be far weaker and less accurate (conscripts and ost)

I bought vCoH on January 3rd, 2007.
Still missing the days of vCoH 1.71. It had it's issues, like paks sniping 57s, and the strafe didn't work, but overall, it was probably the most balanced time in CoH history.

OF ruined that. CoH 2 is....balanced in a nasty way. Everyone has an equal stockpile of gamebreaking bullshit. USA is full of early game BS while the OKW doesn't get its BS until late game. It's just a question of how badly you exploit the faction's shit and how quickly, after a patch, you discover the gaping holes of bullshit Relic leaves. But either way, it's all BS. The only "BS" in vCoH that was gamechanging was the fast m8 vs a bunker.

This would make sense, but i hate squads with unstable DPS. You are in combat and the two good models die, but you dont know and they fail at combat. Or the good models dont shoot. I just assume the vet translates the experience of the squad members.

Also, who gets the panzerschreck, and how will he use it? How will they use picked up weapons?

Maybe it's 'cause the Axis players aren't a bunch of forum crybabies, and they keep their cool and fight the uphill battle, unlike some of their "allied" counterparts.

Not to mention, DPS in buildings with fewer windows than squadmembers would vary considerably depending on which man was at the window.

Anyway because the accumulated strength of the squad would be the same, there would be little point. Maybe if the squad leader got a different model, just as a cosmetic touch?

On an unrelated note I'd really like it if the Wehr Grenadiers got the same uniform that volks have now... the green jumpsuits they currently wear are just hideous.

A buffed squad leader and slightly nerfed squad would be nice. That's how the squads were in CoH 1 afaik

in Company of Heroes the Volksgrenadier squad had one guy with MP44 it would increase their dps for short range and if the guy dies the other squad members can take it. However, that would just disrupt the volksgrenadier role since they are meant to be defending long range units not attacking units. Perhaps give them an STG as an upgrade, they are pretty inadequate aside from the panzershreck in late game as they get easily dominated by riflemen.
