What happened to blizzards?

Snow semois and La Gleize don't have blizzards. Are there even any other maps in 1v1 that have them other than kholodny? Snow langres is gone too as far as I can tell. (For some reason?)

They added a lot of depth to the game, and allowed for a change of tactics for both aggressors and defenders. It'd be nice if more maps featured them, particularly in1v1.

I realize people dislike them for that very reason, but I really enjoyed them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Semois and Langres never had blizzards.

This is correct.

Blizzards are exclusive to eastern front maps and the two in question never were eastern front ones, but just a ports.

- Neither Semois nor Langres winter versions introduced in ranking rotation has blizzards (they could include it if Relic wanted to push the mechanic forward).
- None of the new maps from WFA has blizzard (it could be legitimate in Ardennes setting).

I'm assuming that Relic finally realized blizzard was failed mechanic for ranked gaming and withdrew from it.

Wait a minute, didn't Langres winter had blizzard. I remember a match I had where I saw my at least 10 of my enemy's conscripts froze to death. 10 corpses in the snow...

Was blizzard really bad for ranked gaming? I can't seem to get why other than the fact that the player's vision was blurry because of the flying snow.

It's because Relic checked the stats for which maps were being vetoed and the community collectively dislikes them. Partly because they intensify the already horrible performance of the game and because they force mindless micro. good on paper, un-fun in practice.

Blizzards are not fun. It isn't compelling game play, and I hope they go so far as to remove it entirely.

Won't it be nice if there was an option for custom games to activate or deactivate blizzards for winter maps? That way both sides would be happy.

Blizzards really needed a revamp. The way they work now just adds extra boring micro. It doesn't really add anything to the gameplay.

Tornados, strong winds and typhoons. Glorious gameplay.

The less maps with Blizzards, the better. I veto all the ones that do.

The consistent nerfing to infantry on snow maps has turned me off them. Making the fire place have a shitty AOE and the adding a cost to it was simply too much to accept, and it's just to push a bad gimmick at the player that nobody asked for.

Blizzard maps were the soviet's wet dream, way too bad for the germans.

The charm of Coh has always been fast gameplay, maneuvers, counterattacks, flanks. This is what creates intensive fights and in the end is fun.

The concept of blizzards breaks this concept. Usually it´s a 2-3 minute break in which barely anything happens. The players sit there hoping it will finally end.

So I´m glad there are less blizzard maps than vetoes.

I don't recall soviets getting magical cold resistance that the Germans don't.

In fact, only OKW get that upgrade.
