Remove capping ability from all support weapons?

Would it improve the game to make it so MGs, mortars, AT guns, snipers and units in HTs couldn't cap?

That way any army which made heavy use of support units would suffer some drawbacks.

We have a precedent in coh1 where no army had a support weapon that could fire while capping.


I think it could change the early-game meta for the betta. Thoughts?

I would be in favor of reducing the cap speed to half like the old ostruppen. This would make toxic strats like maxim spam less viable once mid game rolls around, without totally gimping the maxim as a support unit.

i obstained to wording in pole :) (creating bias) but id be snailworm. now tbh id be all for reduced cap rate as them capping at the same rate as infantry is kinda odd.

i like that change tbh capping cirlces bring alot to the game and capping points. and i like that support teams can cap its a matter of do they cap to fast maybe its better this way or maybe reduceing there cap rate would be better. :)

1 option could also be a cap mode like with soviet tanks at vet 1
When activated the unit would be unable to setup the weapon

I just played vCoH again and I just realized much better it was that mgs can't cap points. It makes infantry feel so much more important.

You are already sacrificing AT-nades or panzerfaust by using a weapons team, and you are risking giving equipment to your enemy. No point in nerfing weapons teams.

What you're saying is true and should be taken into account.


Would it not mean that if they had their capping removed that both sides would have to make more careful strategic decisions and maybe build more infantry? This would open the games up a bit, make it all more mobile.

hey guys! Lets make combined arms even more hard to use!

Combined arms in this game is already not as rewarding as it should be. Like spamming grens/cons/maxims whatever is already easy enough. Why make combined arms even more hard to pull off?

Very biased poll... But, no. Keep them the way they are. Yes some ppl spam maxims and cap, but I find them to be quite few. Let's keep the game open to options, let's not completely remove strats because you don't like them.

Yes, almost 100% of 2v2 Soviet is one purely consspam and one purely maxim spam, this shit surely a combined arms hur?

Before in vCOH, two US players did the same thing, but required much more skills and easier to breakthrough than the current maxim shit here now. Rifles has very high upkeep and 30 cal can be easily countered by bike snipers, now cons and maxim almost have no upkeep and the game itself encourage spam.
