Thats because Sov and OST arent artificially gimped by leaving massive gaping holes in non doctrinal roster: Rocket arty, Heavy Tanks, Elite Inf, Premium medium tank.

I've been saying it for years but balance team gives the same lame answer that: its asymetrical game!!

Yeah you know what else is asymetrical? The over 13% win rate disparity between the lowest winning axis faction and the highest winning allied faction.

13%. Balance team is 100% responsible for the state of team games right now and they have been very clear they do not care about them at all.


with the removal/heavy nerf of faction gimmicks (USF/OKW/Brits) I agree with you there isn't too much of a reason to have half factions exist anymore. Ideally, commanders should now "add onto" armies rather then fill holes. Ostheer feels really good to play because their commanders add spice to their main composition.

In OKW's case, they had a lot of tools because of their original "gimped" faction design.

Ignore everything people in this thread said about what the issues are.
Suggest that top 200 players can't counter mg or kill a tank.
Blame it on matchmaker and red ball express and finish off with "but 1v1 though".

+1. OKW has had a ton of work on it which has really helped its ability to be flexible and not crutch on cheese. Its still not all the way there but man, theyre completely different than at launch. USF has had some big changes with its teching but really havent had the actual issue of missing units in the roster fixed. I'm not sure why no one wants to do that, but its clear thats the issue. Build orders are stale and easy to counter and doctrinal choices for these factions don't add to power spikes, they just plug holes like a finger in a dike.

With axis it is very easy to go up from rank 1 to 13, it is very easy, but from rank 13 it is the hell, afk after afk, teamkillers, complete premades on the opposite side, etc. On the contrary, as an ally from 1 to 13 is hard, but from 13 it is win win and win, I rarely get bad allies or afks as an ally and I could go up to 18 very easily without premade. The only way to rank up from 14 as an axis was by playing on premade.

asymmetrical is great and im thankful balance team tries as hard to maintain the theme.

in fact coh2 already made big comprises against asymmetry, in starting units similarities and also in coh1, axis are very strong late game, in coh2, axis only can have super heavy tanks in 4v4, but even then, they are very possible to counter by allies

again as said, to judge 4v4, you need premade teams around the same levels or at least the automatch algo is improved. then again the daily average player base is only around 7000 and further split between europe and asia players...hard to filter

All changes have to follow specific guidelines set by the actual developers of the game who also have to specifically approve any changes that are being proposed. Moreover, the team doesn't have complete access to the game's internals and the changes they can propose are almost always nothing more than can be done with a mod. Also considering that the team members are volunteers that do this out of their passion, they have done exceedingly well and the game has improved vastly because of them, the playerbase even increasing through the years.


The game is a lot of fun and very fair, contrary to what forum warriors would have everyone believe.
