If anything will be changed about it, it's going to be in a follow up patch. There was no opportunity for any changes in this patch except for the performance issues fix. That got fixed and the patch was resubmitted in basically the first day, it just took a very long time to get verification.

Can someone genuinely explain to me why Ostruppen were buffed in this patch? This seems like a completely clueless buff at least from a 1v1/2v2 perspective. Preferably somebody on the balance team who actually agreed with this change.

With the current designed as grenadier ver2 they will either have to be a better choice than grenadiers or never seen again.

I did not choose their current design, on the contrary.

Point here is that as long as they are designed as grenadier ver2 they will either have to be better the grens or there will be no reason to build them.

Its more like a semi buff. They lost early game performance for better late game performance with the MG-42.
