I think we might have to wait for a couple months before we know if Osttruppen or AssGrens are still particularly viable, I'm interested to see some top players try and use them in a tournament to see how effective they are now. I should imagine VSL are still usable, though that's obviously still a Grenadier opening.
(You've still got pioneer/MG into Pgren openings you can use as Ostheer, by the way. You don't ONLY have Gren openings, even without doctrines)

Were sniper and HMG42 removed from T0 and T1?
Doctrinally, osttruppen are still viable, just not overpoweringly oppressing.
So are AGs.
Maybe it's 'cause the Axis players aren't a bunch of forum crybabies, and they keep their cool and fight the uphill battle, unlike some of their "allied" counterparts.
