over-reliance on grens is fast route to defeat.
if you lose your pio-squad early, getting T2 would be postponed, especially if fighting gets fierce, and needing to prioritize mg, mortars or grens.

how about they come out as they currently do, but arrive with 50/50 K98 and STG44? and when T2 is built, STG44 upgrade is free for whole squad?


I actually made a similar suggestion a while back. Basically I said Panzergrens should be built initially with 4 K98ks then given the option to upgrade to 4 StGs or 2 schreks. They deleted my comment. Maybe that was too much but personally I hate the fact that they maintain their cheap squad wiping supernade even after their Schrek upgrade. It makes them still a potent anti-infantry sqaud with serious AT abilities.

To be fair, PnzGrens doesn't arrive earlier than Shocks do with their CP2. :P

Really? PGs arrive no sooner then 6-8th minute of the game?
Even tho T2 ost lights arrive at 4th-5th and PGs are unlocked before that?

Sure you can, all it takes is to click unlimited resources and CPs in cheat commands mod.
Otherwise, I'm gonna go with firm no.

Regardless of game mode, PGs arrive around 1CP and wherabooism isn't going to change that.

speaking of OST non-doc infantry, since in larger gamemodes, extra infantry isnt always prioritized, since there are so many doctrines that the team ''needs''. And VSL,OSTT, assgrens etc. come in doctrines that have limited long-game usage.

So that leaves 2 options for non-doc OST, grens are meh, that means Pgrens needs to kick ass and chew bubblegum, period.

Why are you bringing them up here? Penals have obvious drawbacks that pgrens do not. No support weapons and it slows down your opening

Moving pgrens that early was a bad idea. Stop using the modteams decision to defend the change, you criticize their decisions as much as anyone

Actually T.R. Stormjäger opened they when he started talking about "PG" as elite infatry and "Penals" can be classified in the same category they become relevant.

I took the most recent 5 Soviet games to hit 2 CP on Danes casts.

You can hit 2 CP fast, it doesn't mean you would have mp to buy anything, cause it's more than likely that if you have fast CP it means you have been bleeding and fighting hard.

FHT/222/Flak HT/P2.


In live you will always be short of mp due to having to spend 160mp in T2, 250mp in medics and 125mp on AT nades. As your T3 will never arrive in time to counter enemies light you are forced to either 45mm AT gun or Zis.

Yep, it's not realistic to get a Shock that early.

I would honestly prefer just seeing PzGrens go to the T1 building and see what that does. It essentially does nothing to affect their regular timing with a standard opener but would stop the problems they cause when T1 is skipped.

You could even revert the nerf to Ostruppen being in T1 and do some other nerf to them like just that manpower increase that was tried out.

I'll ask again, why are you talking about penals. Not just as a matter of staying on topic, but pgrens don't have anywhere near the same drawbacks
