I have responded to you and you point of view with respect. I would appreciated if you at least stopped the name calling.

Don't want to defend bad manners (and i won't), but i think it's happened because you came to the thread and started to spread your vision of the balance, even when thread wasn't related to the balance in the first place.

I have made two point so far:

1) That these abilities should not be available stock in the first place from a design point of view
2) That Major reckon comes with 2 planes at vet so it is not like other reckon passes

I have respected both OP and his suggestion only to be flamed twice without any provocation while he has brought up any balance issues. I have only brought up design issues.

Can the Major reckon pass become more player friendly? possibly but it would not be as simple as op suggests simply because there two planes instead of one (at vet 1).

Should USF and UKF have a reckon flight pass available to them as stock? From a design point of view not they should not.

Adding "from a design point of view" to a bunch of points in your post doesn't make it any more relevant to what the post topic actually is.

No it does not.

It does point out thou that I did not turn this thread balance debate, OP did.

It also point out that both flaming post from OP are unprovoked and unjustified.

Actually there is little reason for USF to have stock reckon plane.


Stock recon options:
Ost: Sniper, 222 (vision and infantry awareness), 42 vision pioneers
Sov: M3A1, Scout Sniper (vision and flares), mortar flares, Su&zis tracking, T70 recon mode, SU85 focus sight
USF: M20, Stuart, Major Recon
UKF: Sniper, Sections
OKW: IRHT, Kubel, Luchs&JP4 camo, Puma

Major recon plane is the only stock recon option for USF when they don't go LT full tech and build his LVs. Major recon is absolutely essential for USF.

A nice list but none of what you posted is a reckon plane that can be used to call off map in the rear lines of the enemy.

Only UKS and USF have the reckon flight pass option stock. Either all faction should have them or none.

I did not read every comment, but i have to say i use it often in teamgames also on big 4vs4 maps and i had never problem with it.

It sounds for me just for a L2P issue. Maybe go in custom and try it out, how it works.

The issue is not that it bugs out or worked inconsistently, but that this is another of the many examples in CoH2 where a single ability functions differently from all other similar abilities for actually no apparent reason.
And for someone playing casually this can be a big drawback because there is simply no time to figure out the quirks of each ability.

If possible, it would be better if it worked like the same two-click process of those recon-smoke commander ability. If this creates balance issues, then at least it should be clearly stated that the planes come from the base (or is it? I can't remember that is would be like this, but I have not played with forward majors often recently).
