How did I manage to fumble this game away?

Any advice? I'm pretty sure I should have won this but I didn't really have a good way to drive him back and finish the game.

Couple comments from me: I know I did not use my SU85 extremely well, there were a few misclicks where I thought I had deselected it but I hadn't, which did cause some problems. I also have a bad habit of not cancelling molotovs which bleeds munitions a bit, but I don't feel like that was enough to lose it for me. Basically I bled too much manpower and he came back - mostly damage was caused by pgrens. Penals maybe aren't the right choice there? What is a better way to drive back pgrens?

if you had gone tier 3 and t70 or t34 you would have won. What happened was that you did well early game and took map control, but didnt take his fuel, even when you had most of the map, you didnt take his fuel point away for very long.

Secondly he focused on infantry, partly cos he seemed to like that and partly because he had limited fuel. He didnt get a tank til 17 mins, and even used the jaeger inf commander that meant you needed anti infantry. You had su85s sitting doing nothing for ages because they arent very good against infantry, you also had guards which are not dedicated anti infantry so his pgrens walked all over you once they got promoted and he took the whole map back.

When you get ahead like you did and he is going to struggle to get a tank, you need to kill his infantry. Think about 120mm mortar, or a different commander and use shocks or ppsh upgrade for cons. You didnt use your commander well. You only used guards. mgs would have helped hold him back, or snipers are good against pgrens as long as you micro.

I would only use one penal squad, upgrade it with a flamethrower and use it with your main force to charge in and use satchel charge on mgs or anti tank guns.

in short, if you are ahead, think about what he has now, and what he is likely to have at what point given his resources and try and stay one step ahead.
