I really have no idea what exactly I should have done differently? Opponent only build Maxims and later two AT-guns and a T70 and I had no way to really counter it with OKW.

Tried to ignore the Maxims early game and cap as much as possible which worked ok. Then got Luchs to break him down but ultimately failed due to his 2, later 3 AT-guns and fast T70.

Would ISG have been a better idea? I feel like I would have lost all map Control if I invested in 2 ISGs and only one wouldnt have done anything.

Please watch the replay and tell me what you would have done.

Also: Do Maxim squads take less damage from OKW mines? 4 consecutive mines only managed to kill one model each when being triggerd by a passing Maxim squad. WTF is this?

Garrisons are very difficult for OKW to deal with early on in the game. They have no way to tech grenades till a tech truck is up, no indirect unless BG is up, no MG34 till tech is up and no flamer access w/o locking in firestorm which is less than optimal. For these reasons OKW also struggle with MG spam early on as they have to rely on infantry primarily. On an open map and my opponet used maxim spam mechanized is a good choice but because in the live patch the luchs and the flak truck deal so little damage to garrisons their investment is difficult to payoff before the tanks are overrun with AT or larger tanks. With all of these reasons ISGs would have been a more appropriate response to maxim spam. Unfortunatly the ISGs are also not the most balanced for their manpower cost and popcap, but they'll fair far better than the luchs does against garrisons. If I remember correctly the flak truck and luchs were getting buffs in the WBP but theres been a lot of changes and there was a massive reversion recently. Unsure of many things w/o seeing a compiled list of 1.8 WBP, something I'm currently asking for.

You actually did pretty well against a garrison heavy maxim spam playstyle but the Stuka is just such a risk in 1v1 and it rarely ever pays off. I'd rather take my chances just getting a flak panzer than that. A mistake I did notice early was you wiped 2 squads right out of the gate, but failed to recover the dropped maxim with a volks squad. Should've sent your volks over to recover that much sooner as it did take him a lot of time to recover it. JLI selection was good. Infiltration nades will level wooden buildings which is great on Semosky.

Unfortunatly there isn't a whole lot more to tell you. OKW has its faction flaws just like every other faction and garrisons and MGs are one of their weakest points. I'd recommend ISGs against maxim spam on garrison heavy maps. And of course you can always improve on micro. I saw an MG34 in negative cover engaging a maxim in a garrison. No chance of winning that.

I never get Stukas in 1on1 matches these days but I was just so frustrated by not being able to do anything against his spam of MGs and AT-guns. I knew I was loosing this match and hoped for a very lucky Stuka hit to get me back into the game.

I know about the dropped Maxim early. That was a mistake. I was hesitant whether my Sturms should go and take it and decided to send Volks to take it instead and they obviously never managed to come through.

What frustrates me is that I really don´t know what I should have done.

ISGs are a possibility as you said but I am really not good at using them in 1on1s. In order for them to have a decent effect you really need two and that MP-cost takes away my ability to control the map.

I always feel more confident to rush a Luchs. It would be interesting how the game went if I went for ISGs.

For my skill-level I think there really wasn´t much that I could have done to win this game. I also feel like I was very unlucky with my mines. 4 triggered mines only killing one soldier each. That must be some kind of negative record.

I also planned to make him chase my Luchs with his T70 across a heavily mined bridge and he just didnt follow me for whatever reason even though my Luchs seemed like an easy victim in this situation.

Not sure about the new patch but I do hope that (if it ever gets released, developing it seems to drag on forever) OKW get some sort of option to fight garrisons early game.

The luchs and the flak track are getting AI garrison buffs so they'll at least be better once the patch hits. The mines only wiping 1 model is just based on the models that hit the mine. Was unfortunate squad spacing, nothing you could've really done there. And yes I saw you were trying to bait the t70 over those 2 mines but he stopped to attack your MG34 which was in the building. Don't forget that even if you have to sink 660 manpower into 2 ISGs to dislodge 5 maxims and 2 zis guns, As long as you keep the guns going and the bleed going, they'll pay for themselves and turn a profit.

Hi, next time please also create thread with this replay in state office - replay review section. You have much higher chance of getting your replay riviewed if you do so, because our strategists are mostly observing threads created there and not every random replay posted here, and so its rather big chance that your replay won´t be reviewed at all or only by somebody unskilled for that task.
