This is not the highest level game, but I've been having great success with the Stug III E and Mechanized Assault in general. Since the acceleration and AOE changes the Stug is an extremely potent A.I. tool that can kite with ease and gets ridiculous rate of fire once you hit vet 3. Mid-game Assgrens can also work as an excellent counter to support weapons in tandem with Light Artillery Barrage.
