A few questions, if you have the time.

What is the best German response to this opening that you have encountered?
What are your usual follow up strategies when transitioning into the lategame?

Edit: Was busy streaming when i uploaded the replay. Here is what ive been trying to pull of lately in the new soviet metagame:

1. Build T1
2. Combat Engineer while T1 is being built
3. Build Penal Battalion
4. 3x M3
5. Guards Rifle

You can harrass with M3 at long range, or if you find a lone gren you can go in to gank with Flamethrower. Always try to get fausted if you can get away with it without losing the M3. I use the Guard Motor commander, i stay on T1 the whole game and as mainline infantry i use Guards with DP28's (Only infantry that can do damage in this patch) & Call in T34/85's

The counter would be "Grens go 2 and 2" (2 gren units acting like 1 squad) and a quick 222.

I always go 5 grens into T2 and get a 222 which is strong against any Soviet opener.
My opponent was low-ranked, but im sure you can pull this off on an experienced player aswell.

Yes, you copied my strat cata MVGame

I saw you did this, just after our games MVGame

But i find this strat is good only on maps where you can get Close range and a minimum open like Semoiskiy winter, Stalingrad.

After, on a map like Langreskaya, I find the best way is 3 cons with a big t-2 with maxims,etc, the doc advance warfar.
And you can go T-4 for su-85 if the german make a t-4 with panther, Panzerwerfer.
