GCS was one of the best events of my gaming life. I managed to make my way to England, a country I had not visited in 25 years (when I was merely 1 year old) . I met so many from the CoH community, and made many new friends. I'm not a perfectionist, so I don't beat myself up over the small things even when there are small hiccups. The whole experience was worth every penny. I look forward to supporting future endeavors and flying out to do it all again.

Great article, thx again for hosting the tourney with storm and for involving me in the organising. The organising alone was already great fun :D

I would focus more cash for tech next time around for equipment you keep that you can use for future events. I also think that allowing people to play from there house instead of flying in is a great idea. Its also better to give option to play from home so you dont hear excuses like i did not like comp etc. I think its best to let the Top players play in there comfort zone. I am looking forward to reading what the new plan is for gcs2. In live event i saw 1400 viewers, was fun to watch, altho there were terrible sound issues.

There are dozens of ways to cheat that can only be eliminated by it being a live event. That is another reason.

Mate where's the thrill if tournament games aren't played in a live arena? I never felt so much buzz and excitement before and during GCS at the venue. Sure it costs money, but boy is it worth it.
How else can one stuff a drunk Vonivan in a taxi?!

I get that. I think you should consider doing a fund me for just tech/comp equip for GCS 2. I think you would get donations for that. Seeing you today break over 2 k on twitch makes me feel even stronger about you getting better equip. I think much more is possible with upgrades, your a very trusted individual when it comes to donating to your tournaments.

To Vonkluge: I just think its expensive to pay for players to come. I think players if interested should pay there way as far as plane tickets/hotel. If im not mistaken ae and storm actually helped to arrange alot of that. That money and energy could be used else were like tech. If the player cannot afford it then he should do go fund me and try to raise the cash.

I don't think you quite understand what you are suggesting. You would have the organizers remove one of the core pillars of the GCS experience for the sake of "tech". Having this big live event separates it from all other tournaments. I will admit that the situation prevented a few fantastic players from participating like Noggano, but the end result was worth it.

There is no doubt it is expensive to pay for air fares, but the community managed to make it happen irregardless. You're right that players should be forward thinking in prepping for travel to another country, but the onus shouldn't be on them to guarantee it happens. The biggest thing players should be responsible for is keeping their passport up to date.

Experience from GCS will also help smooth the organization and production immensely. A go fund me page would be redundant to the community donation pool as people should already understand that part of the money will be spent on travel for the finalists.

I understand were your coming from and i personally will make a small donation to this project. I think the guys that are doing gcs need to buy equipment so that broadcast is the best it can be. I think its a big takeaway when you have such a great production and then the sound is terrible or the players that show up dont like the computers they are using. I also think that gcs should ask uncle relic for any hardware donations it can make. Im excited to see how this shapes up , if there is something i can do for any of this guys let me know.

Thanks for the great work. I think, this is not only a big tourney but the one step for the great big step in the COH's future. I don't really play COH2 much recently, but I always wish for the prosperity and bright future of our community :D

Hope that I can take a part in future works for any kind of position!

Thanks a gain.

I must say, i seldom post in this forum my friends, but after seeing this budget in sake of transparency, it means a lot to me somehow. I want to express my gratitude to the community and to all the streamers of this event... Your efforts have an impact and i am glad that the spirit in you people is pumping the blood of the COH2 scene. Keep it up! You have my full support!
