It all comes down to doctrines when playing this game and less about micro or strategy. So far, the shock frontline seems to be the most used and / abused doc, offering abilities against every unit which are supposed to counter its broken Call-Ins. Though it is understandable as the SU stock units are average (ie not OP) so it is the best decision to go with it. Examples ('top' 100 players) :

Anything with IS2 and/or KV8 will be taken for Soviets.

Brits: If it has commandos it'll be taken. And if it has Commandos and a glider that increases resource income. hell yeah

Vanguard, and it's not even close. Arguably the most game breaking commander since the initial Tiger Ace.

Vanguard? Really? At least the Croc actually costs fuel. The Tiger Ace on the other hand can turn a game around with zero fuel cost and a-move shenanigans, even without TWP.

Easy8 Company wtf is that?

Rifleman with flamethrowers is kinda gamebreaking (especially on urban maps)

They should also remove the free retreat point on the Vanguard Glider though.

what about CAS instead of elite troops. CAS is way harder to deal with then elite troops in my opinion

Vanguard

When you have commandos (which are okay, borderline, but okay), Tempest raids (even better than the Ami P-47 vehicle strike) and Crocs (no debate) in the same commander:

You know its broken.

YAS, OSt and Brits have the most broken docs.:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm: And those screencaps are meaningless nonsense.:foreveralone::foreveralone::foreveralone::foreveralone:

Seriously relic should stop considering community feedback when making balance decisions.

Makes a poll > doesn't like the result. Don't ask if you don't like to be answered.

Try harder next time, instead of posting 2 times the "same" pic (15s difference).

-----------------------------------------

Vanguard*1 >>> Rifle*2 >= Elite*3/ShockRifle*4/Whatever meta commander

*1: not much to say.
*2: the whole combo. Vet1 Rifles in combination with flamers (flames are really on the strong side of the balance nowadays) to finish it off with all-around E8. I forgot WP also.
*3: Some may not like the vet ability, but is balanced. The TA is always gonna be controversial. At least no more triple tap (TWP). Design wise is strange, since it rewards making lots of damage, been aggressive to make equivalent the mp drain and losing it eventually.
*4: More like KV8 is good nowadays cause flames are REALLY good ATM.

3/4/Meta commanders are mostly balanced or at least fair.

I think that while some units in these doctrines may be explicitly OP and need to be nerfed, all doctrines should try to come up to their level.

Having 4-5 useful abilities that can affect the games outcome is something these doctrines and few others can say which is dumb since thats what a doctrine should aspire to. Why would i pick recon for abilities that aren't even worth their cost and therefore can't hope to compete with rifle company abilities that can signifigantly contribute to a win.

Crocodile needs a nerf not a whole doctrine. Relic needs to make Conversion give less muni but cost less fuel as well along with a longer cooldown.
