I think its perfectly fine to pay for commanders. They are in no way needed to win. They just add flavor and options. You can be a high level player without ever buying one single commander. Same of course with skins etc.

Relic has truly stepped up there game this year. Im gladly paying some bucks for this classy game to keep on being supported. This is not a MOBA with a consistent player base going into the millions. Money has to come from somewhere.

I'm pretty sure that if you want to win tournament games in OCF as USF you better have Rifle Company. This simple fact makes all of this stuff (organizing a tournament, claiming coh2 is not P2W) so much more difficult than it needs to be.

...and on the other side you have CD project red, 10x more quality 10x more content no DRM and yet it was the massive success COH2 and relic will never be.

OCF is happening after the 3rd of september, i think Infantry Company will become the new meta with those changes

For Relic defense, Witchers 3 dont include multiplayer, so no multiplayers servers

Don't pre-order, never ever again pre-order. Companies will always scam you unless it is something as great as CD Projekt Red.

Don't give Relic more of your money if you are unsatisfied with the game and it's aspects. They've had plenty of time (full year) to fix their broken war spoils system and make patches a a more frequent matter, but they failed with both. Why? Because Sega or Relic's high command wants new content (cash cows) and new micro transactions.

The company, like any other, cares about your money and your money only. The developers that work there care about the game they make, or so we hope. But we must not forget that Relic (or seg) makes decisions about dlc and not the devs, they simply make what Relic (or sega) demands they make.

So think again before you support 'the devs'

Umm, if you want to get brtis around release and don't preorder it, you're actually give Relic MORE money then if you preordered.

And as someone working in one of these evil gaming companies, yes, money are important, but if the game isn't fun, there won't be any money out of it, so no, you're wrong, developers who work there care for the game, product directors care for the money but need to care for the game as well equally, monetization specialists care for the money.

If the content isn't fun, it won't bring any money.

So you're post is wrong at principle.

That is not the point. The point is that people are complaining about dlc within the dlc. You will only see this info very close to release or after. So don't pre-order.

Love how you ignore the rest btw

History lesson:

Last year, when WFA released there were no commanders and skin DLCs, just armies.

Community CRIED AND CRIED AND CRIED until the commanders were introduced to the shop, the community was overjoyed.

Relic didn't repeat the last years mistake and will put the commanders and skins as well with army release.

On top of that, brits are CHEAPER then single WFA army year ago.

The people complaining about DLC within DLCs IN GENERAL might be right.
In context of CoH2 and what we experienced last year are, no other way to call it-pure, thick skulled idiots.

Never reply to my post the minute it was made, usually I add/change stuff.

Not my fault you choose to wait and change things, not going to wait either.

So again, the don't pre-order argument holds its value if you take the example of WFA release as well. You just strenghtened my argument, thank you.

Now I am not bashing on the pre order business (people that do pre order), yet I don't think it is wise to pre order.

Now we can't deny that Relic has been screwing up. Their agendas have been pushed not by devs, but by money grabbers.

Oh, the good old "money-grabber"-argument. I pre-ordered because this years performance of relic restored a lot of trust in the company's work. RTS-market is thin, Im glad and eager to support any company taking a serious shot at it. Relic does.

If we were talking about an EA game... different story.

I respect your opinion! I hope the brits and the new content give you pleasure!

Yet, I will never pre-order ever again after the Battlefield Bad Company Xbox Live problems. Game was unplayable for 3-4 weeks after launch.

Haha ea :foreveralone:

That's not because Rifle Company is good, that's because USF is bad.

*exact same price (12,99) - so if we include inflation, you're kinda right.

Personally i don't have a problem spending 10-20 bucks a year for completely new content. It keeps them alive, and the game fun to me - win / win?

But let's see it the other way:
around a year ago WFA was released, both factions for a mere 20 bucks together (or 2x 13). Half a year later AA, for 40 bucks. And upcoming brits for another 13 (or bit less due pre-order).
So if i would buy everything at retail price, i could spend 80 bucks flat in just one year, and another 36 for the 9 commanders. Not included are cosmetic items.
Of course the stuff goes regularly on sale, and isn't really required to enjoy the game, nor do you need everything to begin with - you can even buy one faction for 2-3 bucks and play multiplayer like anybody else - but all together it just leaves a really bad taste.
well, just my 2 cents.

... I pre-ordered because this years performance of relic restored a lot of trust in the company's work...

It'd be nice if Relic reduced the chance that you can get duplicate commanders, and implement a crafting system. Maybe any 2 commanders = 1 random commander?

Overall, I don't mind buying commanders, but they're too expensive.

There was this stream once, I don't know who's it was, but the guy got 2 war spoils-both of them same OKW commander, was hilarious.

And a way to have a use out of duplicates is on the way, ever since we can get duplicates.

The British Forces look like they do not necessarily need a certain commander to win the game since their stock army itself seems enough like it is the case with Ostheer. All their commanders look supplementary to their stock army to me. I cannot perceive any OP or superior commander at the first sight.

Agreed.

Also, to the main point of the post; no, I'm not annoyed. I don't really care, to be honest. It is what it is, I might buy the commanders, I might not, they are an entirely optional part of the game and I find this is ok.

There is an argument that you need certain commanders to win as certain factions, entirely reasonable ones too, but that isn't something that I personally find annoying.
