Relic wants your vote on TROOP FREEZING

Now that we have all the winter mechanics separated out, get to voting proper!

Edit: My vote is remove. I think infantry taking advantage of the short sight created by blizzards would be cool, and it's a generally frustrating extra layer of micromanagement that slows the game down severely.

Troop freezing shall not kill. Just stats decrease or slow... But killing is so frustating...

It's fine. Common guys, rts should be some though to play. It is also icon of coh (with blizzards). We have to looking for cover and it forcing us to more micro play so it is good for more interesting gameplay.

Adds nothing to game but needless micro.

Edit: Also unclear when unit is freezing since pulsing skull is present most of the time even if a unit is in cover and not vulnerable to freezing.

Out of all the blizzard mechanics on the line this one is the worst and needs to go.

One a game built from the ground up on squad preservation where top players can have an hour long match without a squad wipe, the fact that the last member of a squad can freeze to death while retreat sprinting across the map is mind boggling asinine.


Plus, a lot of players seem interested in seeing blizzards tweaked to allow for aggressive, surprise attacking. Freezing, along with deep snow, contradicts the tactical opportunities of a blizzard and thus need to go.

Whatever Relic decides to do with blizzards, troop freezing has no place in it.

Remove 50mp cost to bonfires. Add a 2-3min cooldown to them.
Remove damage/killing done to troops, just reduce performance of units suffering from cold or increase RA.

It's a good idea, but relic really needs to look at how it effects gameplay. With the current way it's balanced it only acts as a micro tax to have units go to campfire to campfire. The implementation of the blizzards is what is wrong because it was made before any sort of meta in the game had even been established. I want freezing to actually force players to play differently like was originally intended.

They do force them to play different--they force them to camp next to fires. :guyokay:
