Vehicle Phasing, a How-To guide

1. Take any two vehicles. Big ones like Panthers, Elefants, Tigers are best, but this affects all, it's just a question of how easy it is.

2. Make vehicle A move. Rotating counts as moving, in case you are wondering. Make B vehicle move in a way that makes it collide with vehicle A. Click multiple times if you get temporarily stuck on A.

3. Congrats, you have phased through.

Honestly this is pretty freaking broken. While the vehicle sizes have huge issues in themselves, this is clearly just the game engine completely ignoring the bounding boxes whenever move commands are issued and both units involved are moving. While this bug might be age old, that doesn't mean it should be revered and left at peace.

...and so as a tip, if you absolutely want to block someone with a vehicle, spam stop as soon as you block him once, and don't even try to move. Stopped vehicles act as reliable blockers, moving ones never do.

The CoH2 engine never ceases to amaze. As if the pile of engine-related quirks wasn't big enough.

can't wait to see this used by streamers until they get their stream blocked from coh2.org

bump. this gotta be fixed.

it is crucial for medium to cock block heavy's rear in order to swarm & do damage. i can recall at least 3 incidents last week when tanks would just phase through and the tank turret had to rotate 180 degrees & bounce off against front armour instead of getting a killing shot from the rear.

I lost a tank because of it. A turretless TD just phased through my tank by moving back and killed it.

Is this intended or will this ever gonna be fixed (Relic)?

I always assumed it was intentional. Otherwise units might get perma stuck in traffic jams.

At least they should fix it half way. Opponent Tanks should not phase through, only allied tanks. That would make a little bit sense.

It's called quantum tunnelling you folks. Great that coh2 engine has all physics laws and not only classical ones.

I make it simple.

1. If you wanna block enemy vehicles get somewhere behind and press stop even at a side of it.

2. If someone drive behind ur vehicles prey that enemy doesn't know about "Stop" button.

Thanks, thats great to know, I can't say how many times I flanked a tank and it drove through my blocking tank, barely escaping the death trap with little more than no health left. Later this tank came back and punished me for not knowing about this hint.

But why you think its a bug? It is a part of this game since release, if Relic hasn't fixed it up to now, it has to be a "feature". ;)
