Combing assault troops and MGs has a lot of success for me as soviets and as ostheer. Supress while you approach. Blobs are annoying, but generally I find that works. Sometimes I add in a sniper at the back, or a mortar.

also flamers + mg is nice, because there is a disruption effect by the flamers against the blob.

its because blobs are usually armed with massive long ranged dps. its not really about the suppression or the effectiveness of hmg.

the thing is blobs more or less are going to kill the gunner on the 1st burst of fire within the 1st burst of fire. so unless hmg are going to suppress in the 1st burst, blobs are going to be superior. and honest, i doubt anyone sane wants hmg to have that kind of suppressive capabilities.

so the solution is rather simple, tone down long range firepower on infantry weapons. but will german players be willing to give up their lmg superiority? i fucking doubt so.

Only if allied players are willing to give up their monopoly on tough close assault troops.

Did Panzergrenadiers, STG Stormtroops, and STG Obers stop existing while I wasn't looking?

Heck the only real "tough" assault troops on allies is Shocks. Thompson Paras have higher DPS but they aren't that survivable.

I take it the blobbers you face just stand still and don't move?

I usually predict where they move next, most times. Obviously blobbers move most of the time, so anticipating where they move next helps/knowing where their fwd HQ is(OKW fwd medic truck), or simply firing at an area where they usually defend/move fwd at.... :D

You would be surprised at how effective individual 120 strikes are when set to auto fire at max range/mortar ht incendiary rounds going down on blobs moving fwd on the center of the map/stuka barrages on the retreat path of a blob/b4 shots on a volk blob heading towards your armor......

The regular tools, or non-doctorine

The soviets get some nice tools
- mines are cheap, and demos do so good.
- barrage ability for the field gun.
- mortors
- fire, lots of fire.
- su-76
- kats are a pain in the ass for me :S

Ostheer
- mortors
- mines may be expensive however they have a good wide area so one of these well placed badasses can do so much damage.
- the halftrack. The flame upgrade is beautiful.
- stugs
- flakpanzer
- sturmpanzer
- also P4s, they do well

US forces
- demos
- fighting positions, mgs and riflenades, really good
- AA halftrack
- the 75 mm howitzer, vetted it gets white phosphorus, and this shit hurts man
- M8A1 Howitzer Motor Carriage, or mortor tanks.
- shermans

Oberkommander
- mines
- stukas
- flaktracks
- infantry supportgun
- sturm tiger

HMGs i usually use if i want to slow the enemy down, not lock things down. buy time so i can either get there or do something somewhere else. This is why i don't consider this an anti blob unit.

Also guys don't forget to use gernades and molotovs

I'm waiting to be critiqued of this.

I would recomend not fighting where you can't win, and avoiding manpower bleed unecessarily, Use multiple Mgs so your opponent must spend alot of munitions to smoke past them and so you can cover each other

The best anti infantry weapon For Ost vs USF at the moment is the Stug E, it has low hp but it offers alot of firepower and armor with 50 range for only 200/75 at 6 cps. You basically take the whole map if he didn't go armor and bring out an m10. Multiple flamers, lmg grens and AP rounds from MGs also help

Pgs and Storm troops are the same unit and relatively squishy ones without vet at that. Ill give you STG obers but the doctrine they come in is rarely used.

you can change barrels in the mg42 often at the same time you change the belt and takes about as long. I take the mg42 in every situation than any russian piece of shit called maxim.
