Hello!

Well, the topic allmost says it all, but i do have few other questions too. I'm not much of a fan of any kind of artillery, i just want to go straight to the action (fast teching to tanks)B-).

What commanders do you prefer for this kind of playstyle?

And a build order would be much appreciated too, dont know if there's a diffrence in build order, neither you play against Soviets or USF?

PS. I havent got the Assault Support doctrine, still waiting to get it from war spoils, coz it doesnt unlock anymore when you reach a specific level (currently at level 59).

PPS. Oh yes, and now because of the new patch, are panthers worth the huge amount of fuel?

I would recomend luftwaffe supply. You can use the medical supplies to win early fights and drop fuel for faster tanks.

Other options might be Elite troops for a stronger late game with the tiger ace after tech or vet on your early tanks, Stun grenades may also help in early fights. Mabye Lighting war for the releif infantry to increase field presense since you will have spent alot of manpower on tech and a tiger as a late game option.

Panthers are worth 175 fuel in a combat role, but the 90 fuel it costs to unlock makes them very unwieldy to attain. It will often take 10 minutes without you producing any tanks to afford your first panther, which is usually going to hurt you more than the panther helps you

Well, the best aggressive commander for me would probably be the Mechanized Assault commander, which gives you Assault Grenadiers and the Stug III variant, both of which can fit into a very aggressive play style. AssGrens aren't in a great spot balance-wise, but can still be scary on certain maps.

If by aggresive you just mean "fast teching to tanks," you could look at the Luftwaffe Supply commander, which allows you to air-drop fuel to accelerate your tech.

IMO the Panther (and T4 in general) still isn't worth it for Ostheer. Too much fuel tied up in tech/buildings, especially since the Panther is kind of overspecialised and has some curious weaknesses (low rate of fire for example). Tigers or all-in T3 are still the way to go.

Luftwaffe Supply and Elite troops look nice for this purpose. Mechanised Assault might work too, AssGrens dont have AT, so they need some AT-support allways, when sending them capturing points, that part i dont like, stug gets easily flanked by T34/76 :( I'd still want that Assault Support, it looks the best for me (i'm playing 1vs1). But now coz i dont have it, i need to adapt to those what i do have and can buy :).

If i'll go attacking with Tiger Ace, what should i acomppany with it (of course this depends what you're up against, but like in general).

What Soviet tank it can be compared with? Does it own IS-2 or those T34/85's if not getting flanked?

That's very sad to hear, that T4 is still not worth to tech, some cool stuff there :)

Thanks for the tips guys, as i look at the Ostheer Commanders.

The Tiger Ace itself will defeat 1 T34/85 in the frontal duel and has quite good chances in defeating 1 IS-2 as well. Note that the Tiger Ace has Target Weak Point, Blitzkrieg and Panzer Tactician, which you an all use to your atvantage in a tank duel. Also it is a Tiger on Vet 3, of course. However, it seriously shrinks your ressource income, so if you get it, you should try to end the game better sooner then later.

When attacking with the Ace, use some Grens with the LMG upgrade for fighting infantry( the Grens have to stand to use the LMG!) and shouting Panzerfausts at tanks that come too close. It's not different from medium tanks in the sense that you should not have it stand in Pakfire too long. It can, though, decrew a Pak-gun from shooting at it.

I think the Vet-ability you get at 0 CP needs more thought than rolling out the Ace. Generally, I would never use Vet on Grenadiers. They get better through it, but smart unit preservation can do that for it as well. Also, if you vet them, you want to do it as fast as possible, which puts you too much behind in fuel for a marginal gain that can be accomplished with purchasing an LMG 42 as well. Some people do like vetting a mortar or MG 42 immediately. I never do it, but at least I would say you notive the difference more.

My favorite part of the Elite Troops doctrine is that you can use Panzer IVs extensively in the mid game and still get a rather fast Ace if you have too, as the Ace does not cost any fuel. Most of the time, I get a Panzer IV and then Vet it immediately. I think Panzer IVs are the best units to vet, as they get Blitzkrieg on Vet 1 and improved armor on Vet IV. Vetting once gets you nearly to Vet 1 and vetting twice gets you nearly to Vet 2. You can vet the Panzer IV once, then send it out to battle, and when you repair it the first time in the base you vet it again, thereby it does not have to wait for the cooldown of Vet.
