CoH2 beta sounds were much better

1. What is your opinion of the Sounds in Beta of CoH2 ? I find it much better and i wish me to bring back this sounds, especially of Mortar, Artillery and Guards rifles. U can hear it here:

And all in all the flair is much better so the silver symbols at the units on the top ...

Nah, PTRS sounds too loud in beta. But i think MG42 is worse now.. WTF? In beta T34/85 in 4 command points :D:D

Back then CPs were aquired much slower.
5CP was a tiger.

you gained command points at half the rate back then, so that would be 8 by todays standard

Agreed. Don't forget the Mg42. The K98k could use some better firing sounds aswell in my opinion.

I wish we actually got factional music too from the WFA alpha, but it seemed like they had some problems implementing it. It's weird hearing a russian orchestra when its only the two WFA factions are fighting each other

The old mortars sounded awesome. As did the MG42. And the US armor company barrage. I don't know why Relic changed their sounds to considerably less intimdating versions.

I do like the new DShK sound though. I'd love a new BAR sound, too. It currently sounds like a paintball gun.

I don't know about PTRS they seem fine enough, but the old one is ok I guess.

MG42s, BARs, FG42s sound really weak to me.

Somehow, I don't think the US army handed paintball guns that cost 60 ammo.

They changed it to less intimidating versions so that Relic's plans of torturing our mind to make us worship them works?

The G43's sound so thin and distant. They had an awesome sound in CoH also.

Yeah, graphics and sounds are suprisingly were alot better in coh 2 beta.

Also, for some resaon, back in coh 2 beta, all units had different vet 1 capabilities, then relic decided that all of those need to go and replaced with medkits/ tripwires :(

You know, on second thought, I do actually like the new mortar sound. The higher pitch makes it sound like it's coming from higher in the air. I actually remember when the sound overhaul happened during the beta, actually. I remember disliking the sound change at first but I grew to appreciate it.

But I'm going to second myself and say again that BARs are in need of a sound overhaul. :P They sound so weak. And I'm still butthurt about the MG42 sound change. That'll never grow on me. :( Considering how good Relic's sound design is overall (those tank engines, oh baby), it really comes as a shock they'd use such weak sounds for these weapons.

Not all of them. I do, however, remember the conscripts got an ability like Zeal from Terror Doctrine in the first game. I liked that a lot better than trip wire flares. If I remember correctly, the German one kind of sucked.

The Germans got Focus Fire. Anyone wondering how the beta was like could watch some of Imperial Dane's beta casts. It's interesting to see some of the differences in the game.
