I have had this happen 2s. Once recrew to 7 men . And once gost squad . Takes pop cap but couldn't do anything. But (scout)

US seems to have very strange issues with recrewing weapons. 6 men MG 42 teams are not uncommon for them.

I have seen this too, you need to kill the gun itself with a tank/AT gun. For some reason it turns into a vehicle when it gets bugged like that and the crew manning it get the option to dismount the vehicle IE the 75m Howtizer.
