Episode 555 sets us on the Road to Kharkov as Stephenn goes forwards in the name of the Soviet Peoples with T70s and other fun things vs Dieter of the Oberkommando :


Nice match. Also nice to see it on Kharkov.

After so many early mines from Stephenn, I don't understand why Dieter didn't get a minesweeper on his Sturmpioneers. That would also have prevented him from losing his squad to that hilarious double mine explosion.

Also agree a KT or ST would have been great to go alongside the first Panther.

Stephenn's use of the unusual doctrine was good. Nice to see that.

You mentioned the Panzer IV Model J was using the wrong skirts, and not the wire mesh ones. Even though Relic calls it the Model J, I believe it's actually modeled after the H. Note the view-ports on the driver's side and the turret doors:




It also has 4 return rollers instead of 3, and the old exhaust system, although I think some J's had these features as well. Interestingly even though Wehrmacht's Panzer IV is probably supposed to be a Model G, it has more in common with the Model J, since the model was recycled from the CoH1 Panzer IV Ausf J. It's also notably more cartoony, as was CoH1's style compared to CoH2.

Just thought I'd throw that out there. :D

Of course, I just thought it was interesting that they didn't simply call it an H, since they already modeled it after one.

Well considering they were going for an Ardennes Style force. Then the Model J would be the most appropriate.

I'm surprised you were so critical of Ihitto in #576, surely you know how limited Wehrmacht's options are against USF. The StuG E gives them a light armoured vehicle option the army otherwise lacks, which really helps against USF since they're on the backfoot from the beginning of the game, it's no wonder it's so popular against USF. If Banana had gone Lieutenant tier this cast may not have happened :P

He also knew the Easy Eights were coming, Ostheer T3 doesn't quite have anything on that level either, and T4 is difficult to reach, so he would have gone for a Tiger of some sort either way.

Well thing is. When the vast majority goes for it. It kinda gets a bit dull. I mean at that point they're not even trying to do something different.

It is dull, but it works, and when you're Wehr against, USF, 'works' is pretty favourable.

Hard to say. it rather depends on what direction they want to take things in. But i'd guess a couple of more expansions, some SP. some MP. The tricky part is in what direction they take things. Do they expand on things as they currently are ? In which case a British force vs a third German force is possible.

Or they could go for something seperate (which would be the best option i think) and do a North Africa expansion with Afrika Korps vs Commonwealth. Later Adding in the Americans and the Herman Goering.

Anyways. Episode 582 is up. Fortune vs Lazy ren ! :
