I keep hearing how german armor is overpowered, and how people keep complaining about blitzkreig working on damaged engines... but this match just proves it in my eyes. And you can see how ridiculous this thing is. Even before it got its veterency my 2 At guns and 2 Su85's still could not kill this thing, then when it started vetting up, it just became a 1 man army... keep in mind im a decently ranked player, especially WITH german.

Please tell me what im supposed to do, the 80% entire game until tiger hit I had both fuel points, and was dominating the map. The game was in the bag, until one unit hits the field and changes everything even though I had him cut off from fuel. How is this fair is all i want to know, and i played decently. It goes to show how this game needs changes, especially veterancy scaling, a much less skilled player that made so many mistakes in the game can win with one blatantly overpowered unit and a little luck. My su85's which are supposed to be the soviets only REAL choice for mobile AT, didnt penetrate the tiger about 6-7+ times in a row, and probably 15+ times the whole game...

now im no pro, and granted i did make some mistakes with my su76's and my first su85. Im just pretty mindblown....

Thats your mistake. Believing you only have 1 response to AT in the SU-85. Not making use of the KV-1 or T-34/75 and using a long range AT weapon at short range 1 on 1 vs a vehicle twice it's resource cost.

You played badly. Thats it.

KV-1 is doctrinal and dlc, so it shouldn't even be mentioned. You're saying the T-34 would've been a better choice than an SU-85 vs. a Tiger? It would've been crushed. SU-85 is the only choice here but it only works well on open maps and needs additional protection from Guards. Soviet "combined arms" vs. German heavy tanks basically means focusing all your efforts and your build on stopping one heavy tank from getting in close. With smoke or blitz, good luck. As Soviets you basically just have to win the game before it gets to this stage (which is why fast T70 cheese is so popular). Or hope you're on an open enough map that your SU-85s can work.

Watched the replay, have to say you did have some bad luck.

Apart from the micro mistakes and weird early build order, I'd focus on left hand side as Soviets because it's more open which makes SU-85s more viable. They suck so bad in the middle/right hand side as you probably noticed.

Also use the vet1 ability with katyushas against tanks.
