You know, for an early game doctrine, it seems that games last well past late game. Could I have pushed? Maybe, but I don't fancy the risk. :p

Featuring:

Soviets!
Defensive Doctrine! (I'm going to be using this for a while, sorry.)
Cons! Penal! Cons! Penal!
120mm mortar and single shot does not make an LeIG happy!
T34/76 ram from the front that somehow took the engine!
T70s being a bastard!
Vet 3 DSHKs!
Sneaky engineer puts a stop to the game!

OKW!
Breakthrough Doctrine!
Cutoff? No, that's mine!
Panzerfusiliers and Volks working in tandem!
Panther that has its work cut out for it!
Raketenwerfer everywhere!
Stuka Halftrack tasked with dealing with soviet infantry!
King Tiger coming in late to the party!

Have all the funs.

to describe the game in one sentence: same types of units (t76, penals, cons, dshk vs. volks, füseliers, panther) collide for over one hour of gameplay. nothing surprising happens. very soporific to watch

Fair enough, I respect your opinion.

Maybe you want to vet my future replays so that it suits your action-addicted needs?

I always thought that the replay section of coh2.org is intended to upload replays. what does one want to achieve by sharing a replay with the public? to my mind you only share replays what you consider worth watching. what is worth watching? the main argument of being of interest to the public is entertainment. so either a replay is entertaining and therefore fun to watch or an other point would be if it reveals certain facts of the game which are of interest for other players. these could be: revealing bugs, introducing certain strategies or counters to specific game conditions. but NONE of these points apply to this replay! it's just disappointing for the people who have watched it because they gained nothing from it, neither they were entertained nor they gained some wisdom (tactical skills, etc.) from it.
please provide me with the point why you uploaded this.
for the record: i am NOT of the opinion that everyone should upload ALL his replays, rather i am of the opinion that only outstanding (in some ways) replays should be uploaded to keep a certain level of quality. an exaggerated view would be that this replay section will be spammed with replays from people who play coh2 for the first time. this would be a disaster. i hope you understand my argumentation.

No that's a fair argument. Maybe we just value different stuff deemed to be noteworthy?

So in my opinion, every game can be interesting, just with different degrees of interesting so to say. But hey, coh2.org allows replays to be uploaded, it could be just for people who want to share replays amongst friends or what not (not in my case). Maybe there should be further distinction on the category of replays? Maybe an "expert" replay or a "casual" replay.

Anyways to get to the point, I'm not disagreeing with you that the game was a drag. It was. Two players that were position defensively and grappling over vps is going to take some time. What I thought would be interesting is that a. penals can be used to a good effect as a starting infantry, b. defensive doctrine can be used to good effect, c. t34/76s and t70s can stay relevant, albeit a little static, throughout the game. You can also pursue my opponent's perspective, what he/she could have done to try and turn the game over.

I mean I'm picking cherries here. I acknowledge this may not be a fast paced game which may be due to my playstyle, but every replay has some worth.
